If you're intimidated by how much there is to read, there are Lets Read videos of it on KZbin that has a narrator and has different people give voices to the characters. It helps to get a feel for if you're going to like it at first, and if you don't then still stick with it. The later Acts get better then the first, which is very expositional.

K so basically these 4 13-16 year olds enter this game called Sburb. Sburb is kind of like the sims, except it uses your house and actually brings objects in. It doesn't have chairs or tables or anything like that, it has weird machines which I will dive into later. So basically this game causes meteors to crash into Earth one at a time and end the world. BUT the four kids managed to escape into a server. I will refer to these kids as the 'Beta kids'. So basically the Beta kids get each of their own worlds and 'Gates' they have to travel through. If i remember correctly, there are either 2 or 8 gates to travel through on each world, the final one taking you to another Beta kid's world. Ok, now the Trolls. The Trolls aren't those weird green things you find under bridges, or internet trolls, (Okay, maybe the last one) they're an interdimensional alien species from a planet called 'Alternia'. They have grey skin, horns, and weird terminology for baths and fridges. Also, an intense hatred for buckets. The 12 main trolls (Who I will refer to as the Beta *Trolls*) all represent a zodiac sign, with their Lusus (The being that raised them) being their zodiac animal. The Pisces troll gets a fish, the Taurus troll gets a bull, etc. The Beta Trolls play a game called Sgrub (The Troll equivalent of Sburb) and the same thing basically happens. The trolls have four kinds of different love, unlike humans who only have 1. The Trolls all have a different colour blood, and your blood says what status you are. Red is the lowest, fuchsia is the highest. If you have a brightly coloured blood, you are described as a 'mutant', and are the lowest of the low. A Mutant Fuchsia is lower than a normal red blood. Since there is different statuses, there is also something called hemoracism. Basically, some Trolls think anyone who has lower blood than them is vermin. Okay, I hope I didn't spoil anything major! The first 3 acts are kind of boring, but stick with it! AND STAY AWAY FROM BUCKETS.

Homestuck is about friendships built over the internet between people who have never met, who are all toiling with their own personal struggles with their families and the worlds around them. My summary of Homestuck: The comic starts off with four kids, John Egbert, Rose LaLonde, Dave Strider, and Jade Harley. They are all 13 years old and they all play this game called Sburb, in which they can alchemize things and prototype objects to create phantom figures. However, playing the game sends a meteor to their direct location and ends the world. The since their world is ended, they have to make it to these planets, LOWAS (Land of Wind and Shade), LOLAR (Land of Light and Rain), LOHAC (Land of Heat and Clockwork), and LOFAF (Land of Frost and Frogs). And also, each kid has a guardian, which is a parental figure that raises them. John has Dad, Rose has Mom, Dave has Bro, and Jade has Grandpa. Each guardian (except for Granda because he's already dead) gets killed at some point, so don't get too attached. The kids eventually start getting messaged, or trolled, by these aliens coincidentally called "trolls." The trolls are Karkat Vantas, Aradia Megido, Tavros Nitram, Sollux Captor, Nepeta Leijon, Kanaya Maryam, Terezi Pyrope, Vriska Serket, Equius Zahhak, Gamzee Makara, Eridan Ampora, and Feferi Peixes. Alike the kids, the trolls each have a guardian. The guardians are called a "lusus," which is a large, pale figure of their zodiac animal. The trolls live on a planet called Alternia. Each troll is a play on their zodiac. Each troll has a different blood color. The blood color determines their class. The trolls as well play Sburb, but they play the Alternian equivalent called "Sgrub." The trolls also bring upon the end of their world. The kids and the trolls have to play the game, because if they don't the world will fall and die to The Condescension, but we'll get to that later. There are also different creatures, such as the exiles, the midnight crew, and the felt. The exiles consist of Wayward Vagabond, Peregrine Mendicant, Aimless Renegade, and others. The exiles can communicate with the trolls and kids by giving them commands. The Midnight crew consists of Hearts Boxcars, Diamonds Drouge, Clubs Duece, and Spades Slick. They're all based off playing cards, duh. Spades Slick has a derside alternative self called "Jack Noir." I forgot to mention, each troll and kids go a planet when they go to sleep. They either dream in Prospit or Derse, your personality determines which planet you go to. Jack Noir gets mocked by the Derside Black Queen, and he fucking murders her because he was forced to wear a hat. Jack Noir then goes a rabid killing spree. Also, I there's a Derside Black queen and a Prospitian White queen, each have a ring that gives off incredible power. Jack Noir takes the Black Queen's ring and gives off insane power. The kids and trolls are on a mission to take the rings and destroy them. Jack Noir at one point gets merged with Jade's dog, Becquerel, so he's a FURRY NOW! Jumping back to the kids and trolls, they all have to create a new universe and live on this meteor now. But then, there's a scratch in the disc for Homestuck, so we get introduced to these new kids. The kids are an alternative version of the other kids' guardians. These kids include of Jane Crocker (John's Nana), Roxy LaLonde (Mom), Dirk Strider (Bro), and Jake English (Grandpa). Alike the other kids, these kids are as well 13 years old and play Sburb. We then get introduced to these new trolls, who are the ancestors of the previous trolls. They are all dead, but they have been revived as ghosts. The ancestors include of Kankri Vantas, Damara Megido, Rufioh Nitram, Mituna Captor, Meulin Leijon, Porrim Mayram, Latula Pyrope, Aranea Serket, Horrus Zahhak, Kurloz Makara, Cronus Ampora, and Meenah Peixes. Each ancestor has an alternative self. The alternative self includes of the Sufferer/Signless, The Handmaiden, The Summoner, The Ψionic, The Disciple, The Dolorosa, Redglare, Marquise Spinneret Mindfang, The E%ecutor, The Grand Highblood, Dualscar, and The Condensation. The story behind these characters are really long, so you go research it yourself. There are also these other creatures called Cherubs. The cherubs are Calliope and Caliborn. The cherubs have to share a body, and Caliborn takes over the body and kills his sister. At some point in the story each and everyone characters dies at least twice. Well, all except for The Makaras and PM. There is a rule that clowns in Homestuck (Those being Gamzee and Kurloz) cannot be murdered. After death, the characters have to be placed on their quest bed. The quest bead reflects what aspect they have. The aspects include Blood, Time, Breath, Doom, Heart, Space, Mind, Light, Void, Rage, Hope, and Life. After you are placed on your quest bed, you will ascend to God Tier. You're god tier titles reflect your class and aspect. The classes include Knight, Maid, Page, Mage, Rouge, Sylph, Seer, Thief, Heir, Bard, Prince, and Witch. And example of a god teir title would be Rouge of Heart or Theif of Light, or Seer of Life. Once you reach God Tier, you cannot die unless you have been murdered. If so happens, you can only be revived if you die a heroic or just death. Heroic is pretty straight forward, death as in risking your life for someone. Just is death that happens is one dies mind controlled or evil. That's all I know about it, I'm very lazy
