How to identify clots in the impella? As via direct visualization in ECMO! What's the purpose of purge flow and pressure?? Regarding sizes of impella, what's the ideal size for adult male/female?Any formula for size calculation?The flow and P2-P8 should vary according to size of impella too right?

The mechanism is completely different, usually no clot form in motor area if dextrose is properly arranged . Purge flow keeps the motor functioning by making a layer of water again the blood and prevent the blocking . Same size fits all . Only thing 2 variations comes depending upon the max flow . P2-p8 are manually adjust not on size
