Hello Jamila, I am a pharmacy student and I took a cosmetic sciences course. I just wanna comment on what you said about SPF (sun protection factor). SPF value refers to the amount of solar exposure against which the sunscreen provides protection and not the length of solar exposure you can have without getting sunburn, i.e. it's a measure of how many times less your skin will be damaged by sun exposure. Moreover, make sure the sunscreen protects against UVA (anti-aging) and UVB (protects you from sunburns). Also excellent comment on the perfume. I don’t think many people are aware of that. Stay safe ♥️♥️

i feel like she's not really sure about what she said. She once said in her email etiquette KZbin vid that we should refer to someone formally as Dear *tittle* First name Last name when in fact Oxford learner dictionary indicated that we should only use Last name not full name.
@ishitaa44803 жыл бұрын
actually perfume is not good for the skin anyway
@miraalhasan86003 жыл бұрын
@@ishitaa4480 That's why I put it on my clothes rather than my skin. The alcohol in it is drying which will eventually lead to wrinkles.

The perfume tip was so helpful. I never knew perfumes could damage skin once exposed to the sun. Exquisite sunglasses and beautiful bag too, so colorful and perfectly encapsulates the brightness of summer.

It’s wonderful to hear there are other people who don’t love being tan. Everyone makes fun of me for preferring my skin tone on the paler side because I think it goes better with my blonde hair and blue eyes. Your coloring is gorgeous with your very dark black hair and light skin 😘 Thank you for this beautiful video 💕

Loved the video! The 50 minutes it's not true however. Spf 50 means that you technically can expose yourself 50 times longer than without sunscreen without burning. Hope it helps :)
@katevee76393 жыл бұрын
True! Also I don’t like the fact, that she uses a very small amount of spf. When spf is tested usually 2 mg of spf per square centimeter is used.

I mean i love my skin color and even though i really admire african american or latinos skin colors no matter how much you stay in the sun it's never that same beautiful golden skin! I’m not a dermatologist but I think that they started saying to people to apply sunscreen every 50 minutes because majority of them under apply sunscreen. If you apply the right amount of sunscreen you can reapply it every 2 hours. Also, if you really want to get rid of freckles consider using sunscreen that is fragrance free because the fragrance can worsen hyperpigmentation, and freckles are a form of hyperpigmentation. And with fragrance I mean perfume and essential oils -> they contain compounds like coumarins, furanocoumarins, geraniol, limonene and others, that when they are hit by the sun they transform in other compounds that irritate the skin and when skin is irritated starts to produce more skin cells and this leads to hyperpigmentation. The same goes for the moisturizer, you should start using one that doesn’t contain fragrance or some of the compounds I mentioned before. You also need to apply sunscreen even if you are not at the beach because the sun does the same thing to the skin no matter where you are. The fact that you have freckles means that you didn’t apply sunscreen, at least, since summer started and that you under applied it.

While I enjoy all your videos, I feel like this video leans more towards lifestyle blogger, which you mentioned was not your aim. I think there’s always an opportunity to add etiquette lessons into the content. Like properly covering up in public, removing sunglasses when speaking to others, etc.
@wildtheim3 жыл бұрын
I knew she said that that was not her aim in a previous video, but as one of her followers on Instagram, I did see that there were conversations that suggested people watching her wanted to see some lifestyle videos, and she has been quite open about it recently. I understand your sentiment, though I still believe we should respect her decisions and no decision is permanent after all, just loke what she said before. Never say never as they. 😊

@zulem7792 жыл бұрын
Great video but the 50 spf meaning is: how much time will your skin burn under the sun? Well that, times 50! That is the rule If you applied the real amount you should use! But nobody does it, so you should reapplied the sunscreen every 2hours and If you have sensitive skin every hour
@natalia92593 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the useful video. Most interesting point for me was about versatile body-hair oil, should try that brand. Just keep in mind that recent studies, which surprised me as well, ws about cancerogenic risk of spf protection in particularly spray firm due to certain ingredients. Also during watching all video was wondering about one question - don't you get nervous to leave 2000 dollars bag just like that in the sand while you going to swim etc? I mean even if person is easy on money, still it might be quite a pitty to get stolen-dusty-dirty-sandy 😟

Hi Jamila, I would like to clarify for you and your listeners that the SPF 50 means you are protected not for 50 min but for 500 min. It works with every spf. You do it like: spf x 10= … min. The 10 is for average skin phototype. If you tend to burn faster, 10 may be too high for you. So you have to reaply sooner. Hope it helps 😊 Btw. you look gorgeous ❤️

I too don’t like to sun tan either because I get freckles and hyperpigmentation that don’t go away. It is really hard though because I haven’t figured out a good fake tan routine yet. I look better with a tan. Do you fake tan or just embrace your natural skin tone? Also do you you lip balm with spf?

Hello, I am new to your channel and have recently started my own. Would love to see more videos like this. I have a contract with a vegan beauty company called MONAT. If you are ever interested in any of their products please do not forget me. I love watching videos like this because I get to learn about new products and it gives me ideas for next time I go to the beach. I have spent years perfecting my routine and now with my little daughter it is all much more difficult than before. A book is always an essential. One other topic I would love to learn from you channel is about the tools you are using; like camera, programs to edit, and other lighting tools or simple tips of when you film. Those would be my main topics. Enjoy your channel so much and look forward to more interaction.
