Yes! I do know that feeling and expressed it to my friends today. On a backroad with old houses, we were passing a corn field not yet planted. I said "that field needs a metal detector". So much of Virginia's history is hidden on fields we can't get to, and it's really sad! If only the homeowners only knew. Onward, to finish watching your video.

My husband is over 50yrs as a volunteer mixed in with 30 years as a career firefighter/paramedic. He hasn't found his down time yet, and I think it shows. I always wonder what’s laying in the ground either around an old house or field and a patch of woods. Also wonder how much history is lost when I see land getting developed or roads being built. And I agree. Metal detecting is therapeutic to me. There seems to be nothing that will clear your mind like swing a detector and saving some history. Thanks for sharing Matt
