Nowadays the stun gun only have 4 batteries instead 5. I think that there were problems with the 5 batteries configuration.

Yikes! The battery charging circuit is the cheapest and cheesiest. The voltage and current limiter is the capacitor itself, at least they put a full bridge rectifier instead of a single diode. Quite crappy anyway, I guess it isn't supposed to last long.

I have the same model, it was working good till the 1st charge. Plugged in the wall for roughly 45 minutes. The flashlight still works but when i activate the stun switch the stun gun only makes a whining sound no zapping anymore? Anyone have a clue what could've gone bad? Thanks.

1.- battery is almost dead (The way the charger is designed is really bad since it has no overcharge protection) and the led turns on because it only uses very little current. 2.- the electronics inside the black case are damaged ( Transformer like Percy say, or the solid state electronics). You can't really expect much from a cheap taser like that.

This stun gun must be charged no more than 7 - 12 hours and you must unplug it manually after 7-12 hours because it has no automatic disconnection. If you overcharge it is possible that the inside rechargeable batteries become weak
