► FAQ
Q• Why are you uploading cruising videos and renovation videos at the same time.
A• As of October 2021 we have finished our journey to visit every waterway on the connected system but we still have a back lock of videos to edit. For this reason we are uploading a cruising video each week till we finish the journey. In November 2021 we started a project to renovate our Narrowboat and as there was a lot of interest in is filming this we decided to alternate the renovations with the old cruising videos. We also aim to get one renovation video up each week until the cruising videos are finished.
Q• Why do you speed up some of the footage in your videos?
A• We don't, we film it as time-lapse footage. We do not have the battery capacity or data storage to film in real time as our cruises can last up to 7 or 8 hours. We use to the time-lapse footage to help tell the story of movement rather than showcase the scenery. We limit the amount of time-lapse shots we use in each vlog.
Q• Why are your video's so behind?
A• We would love to release all our video's in the same week that we film them but that isn't possible for us. Jo only really has the capacity to edit two video's per week and as we make a video for each cruise that we do and we some times cruise 3 or 4 or 5 times a week we inevitably get behind. We fit in the vlogs around our lives not the other way round.

Really pleased to hear that you had a good but rather tiring time at Crick and nearly sold out. Bet that it feels good to be on your way home. Martin has lost a lot of weight I do hope that he isn't ill.

Was shown a trick an old boatman. If it's leaking under the gate. Stand at the end of beam and shake it up and down. It sometimes beds the gate in.

We chatted to you both at the show which you could say was a life's ambition since we have followed you all throughout your narrow boat journeys. In your clip at the top of the Watford flight, would believe it was a boat from Triggs lock on the Wey Navigation ! ! Perseverance IV last Wey barge built 1934. Registered 1937 still mooring at Dapdune Wharf Guildford. The first barge named perseverance was built in 1877 at Dapdune Wharf.. Hope you are both well. Keep safe warm dry and virus free both.

My goodness, Michael and Jo, you appear to have reinvented yourselves. You both look so happy, laughing and smiling and enjoying every minute of the cruise. I hope all the stresses and strains of renovating the boat are long gone and the future brings an easier life. Your stand at Crick with all the products looked amazing (it must have been hard work) and especially George’s little comfy castle. Good luck.

Just back from holidays and catching up. Peterhampton isn't so silly. Over the last two or three decades built to the south and adjacent to Peterborough are, Hampton, Hampton Water, Hampton Hargate and Hampton Heights. Loved the video.

Good looking booth at Crick! Very neat. Love the George hide away :) That boat was like the DeLorean of narrow boats. Must have cost a fortune to make that (or clad it) in stainless.

I gave my friend's boat rather a severe bump going into the top lock at the Watford flight last September. He was not best pleased! He is also a volunteer lock keeper at Watford, so he knows the vagaries of that flight very well.

What an enjoyable video! The topic was good, the lighting was good and the audio was great EVEN with the water coming into the lock! You both look fantastic! For awhile, Michael, you looked like you had lost a lot of weight. I know that you had but it is the look I am referring to. Now you fit your body. There’s no sign of anything but that you are who you are. Not that my approval is worth the slightest thing, it was unsolicited and I don’t have the right to an opinion but you look so good that I wanted to pass it on. You both look great! You look good with your hair up or down, Jo, but you look softer (no, you don’t look harsh when it is up) when it is down. I don’t know this but I suspect that your hair was (maybe still is) harder to manage and harder to tolerate when it was down, but with this cut it looks fantastic! I wore the same hairstyle for 40 or 45 years. Well, same cut. Long, too straight, mid back or at my belt. I became the queen of braids, either a French braid straight down the back or a French braid headband or a crown. I did not do the crown often because it took 15-20minutes to do and I was never confident that it was straight. The last time it was long, my thyroid quit working. Maybe it would have fallen out no matter what I did but I had it cut off. Not sure that was the best idea. Because the bald spots are impossible to hide. Don’t mind me, I am old. I also seem to make everything about me. The point I was making was that I love your hair and this length down is incredibly flattering. George is George. He is cute and looks perpetually sad. But so very well behaved since he grew out of his puppy stage and he also seems very secure. He knows the rules so he isn’t afraid. He knows that you won’t leave him so he just gets comfortable when you tie him up, and a few videos ago you tied him up and then went around somewhere and left him. I got anxious and wanted the camera to pan to him. When it did, he was non-plussed. I was incredibly impressed. Now, though, I realize that you were filmed pulling away but someone was filming. I’m an idiot. Aside from the one mind reading seeming super dog, he is remarkably secure and well behaved. Not that he wasn’t well behaved when you pulled out, because he was. Do I sound like a complete goofball? Going to stop here before it gets worse.

Fear of spiders is a deeply laid evolutionary trait.
@MinimalList
@MinimalList Жыл бұрын
Doesn’t make much sense though… the last time spiders were a serious threat to humans was WAY before the primates split off on their own phylogenetic branch… basically once “are you larger than a tree shrew” has a positive answer, you’re evolutionarily safe from all arachnids. M

I was all, "Peterhampton? There's a place called Peterhampton? Oh, okay, it's a nice name, I guess. I've never heard of that placename before, but it doesn't surprise me as much as Irthingborough." There are _a lot_ of places I don't know, so I just assume. :) I got what for whenever I didn't wait for my mother or her friends when I was younger. XD I love low-hanging trees unless they surprise me. I cycle, and there have been a few occasions where, after looking over my shoulder, I face forward again just in time to be smacked in the face! XD lololol... no-one ever appreciates a courageous implement retrieval maneuver, Jo; it's _always_ interpreted as running away! Day off tomorrow! I need about 3 of those, preferably all in a row, and I haven't even done anything. Such is my health. I'm glad that Crick went well for you, and that you both look like you're doing well now. :) Your videos are so much fun to watch!

Somewhere around the 17:30 mark, you bobbled "Lancashire" (I think?) and said, "Lancaster". You'll forgive me if I'm wrong, as I was pretty young, but wasn't Lancaster the city we lived in as Kids in California?

Lancaster is both the town in California (near Palmdale) where we lived, and a city in northern England (and also the county seat of Lancashire county). So I’ve been to all three! M
