Many of them are engineering staff in depots. Many are night only who work in the tunnels when the tube shuts down.

I used to suffer from agoraphobia in my 20s. Its usually something that happens after a mental breakdown or so. At least it was for me. Not the train itself in particular. But the fear of having a panic attack in a trapped situation.

When I was an IT teacher in the US part of the instruction was taking the HS students up a 20’ steel ladder and at the top they needed to step backward 2’ onto a cement landing and they could not see what they were stepping on. In this room was 440V, 220V, phone cabinets, and Internet connections along with a noisy AC unit. I would stand behind the students ready to grab them around the waist as they stepped backwards. I never lost one, but it sure gave me nightmares the night before.

I honestly think that I would have failed the track walk/ track cross test - I would probably freeze in the middle of the track from fear of touching one of the electrified rails. I probably won't be applying to work for any of the railways I guess.

I had someone who did that later on in their career whilst a train was coming. She just panicked. We got her calmed and out the way. Unfortunately they don't do this for new starters anymore which is a shame because it helps you respect the environment and see how big the trains really are

That is scary walking across the live rails you got to be so careful on your feet not to touch the live track that requires balance. One wrong or incorrect step over and you would not be well as currents are powerful and dangerous like when we used to do the physical vandergtaph generator and the electric shock therapy obstacle in tough mudder.

Well, just take a deep breath in and hold for 4 and back out, then walk down there and feel the thrill of the wind blowing in your face as that metal sideways straw pulls in to the station, think it like that, then keep breathing normally eventually you'll get used to it, I was also scared of the doors, but remember, there's another person driving the train, I once got stuck in the door, but it doesn't hurt. It just feels like 500g of pressure hitting me.

They either pick them up off floor or out of bins from what people have thrown cos they're finished with them or they actually ask commuters for them when they're leaving the stations. The touts will then sell them on to incoming passengers at a cheaper price. Obviously doesn't include oyster cards just ur normal single /returns to that station

Why not simply give these workers PPE. Not fucking hard is it? As an electrician you have to wear protective gloves, boots and tools. Why dont the rail workers get PPE since they have to face higher voltage and have less h&s training. Bet the managers could easily be sued if someone dies just because they do not bother giving out £100 per person to keep them safe

You know, I'll never understand why the people who buy from the ticket touts get so mad at the people who work at the Underground. Yeah, you were ripped off. Yeah, you have a right to want your money back. However, you're getting mad at the wrong people. Instead of getting pissy with the people who are just doing their jobs, how about you go and look for the guy who sold you the ticket instead? Go and get your money back from the right person.

Because Spark bought the rights to those documentaries, and they now want to make their money back. Episodic releases do increase viewership, and thus, money. Sure, it'd be great to push them out all at once, but I do get the scheduled releases. It's not only that it leads to more organic views (you are in their "subscribed" feed more often, for example), but also the KZbin algorithm seems to favor periodic uploads compared to bursts.

Being a mother is challenging but it’s not a sane reason to become a Mum. She has a children, at least one them is still young and doesn’t want to come home to a motherless home after his day at school - let alone be shifted from pillar to post in the summer holidays and Christmas etc, she should start to think about her children first, go for a job when it’s the correct time.
