I think you could have placed more emphasis the role of music in the story - music, of course, being a very powerful carrier of memory, and which meant a great deal to Joyce. He is very specific as the actual music being performed and discussed, whether it be grand opera or Irish folksongs. And wonderful to see the much-missed Donal McCann as Gabriel.
