My history teacher Alexander Goryachev was archaeologist as well. He is passionate about Tamgaly. We had expeditions there. As far as I know from him, during Soviet times army , it was used as tank polygon. Those tanks destroyed a lot of artifacts

It's very true as Rocky saying. It's infrastructure and easy access to the places need more development. Your chanel is incredibly inspiring. I'm myself never have been at Tambaly but keeping it in my plans. Also, Rocky is one of the most educated bloggers just the way of speaking and describing certain subjects. I've been to tamgaly more than a decade ago. The tour was guided by a very well known historian. That's why the tour was very interesting. I remember there were no tourist infrastructure but at the same time i thought if it was so attractive to tourists the place would have been destroyed.

There seems to be a drawing of Buddha next to other petroglyphs. It's pretty huge. I don’t know if you saw it there or not… but it’s cool that Buddhism was also present in Kazakhstan a long time ago. When I first heard about this, I was shocked to some extent. Buddhism is not something that ordinary person would expect to see in KZ

@@Ahmed-iam yeah just an hour ago I watched a video of interview of famous Kazakh genealogist and historian, he mentioned that myth about tengrianism being our ancestors' religion is mostly made up, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity were all even more widespread than Tengrianism(which is considered to be more of a general term bumping all traditional beliefs together rather than a religion) before Islam

These stones... they blow my mind. I'm not saying about petroglyphs, but about stones actually. Look at them, people - don't you see that they are artificially cut? Nobody will convince me it was made by nature, that's impossible - too regular shapes. I am an engineer, but i never saw the tools capable to do such unusual cuts - diament saw cannot do this, and even in this case it could look completely different. Seems like someone long time ago wanted to destroy these petroglyphs cutting these stones by some gigantic "saber" that can cut the stone like a hot knife through a butter, and he mostly succeeded - these pictures are the small percent of that what it was here before, considering destroyed areas around pictures. I think i know what was there, damn.
