Those Taiyang Bing look delicious! I wonder if the Mongolians also used rendered fat from those Albas Goats to do the deep frying. The sceneries in Inner Mongolia are so amazing. To have a massive stretch of grassland that then becomes a desert that then returns to a grassland is so intriguing to me. And, for both types of environments, I wonder how each look now in the winter.

Some might, but Tao Getong used normal cooking oil when he cooked these.

I love lamb! Never disappointed me. I got a pullover made of wool and cashmere and it's my favorite one among all those I own, and guess where I bought it? In Italy. Didn't know that Italy imports so much cashmere from Ordos. The goats in your vid look so fabulous. Hope I can go there too in the future! To enjoy the beautiful Inner Mongolia landscape, have fun with Albas goats and other animals, buy some cashmere products and enjoy the meat too, and other great things/people. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

In Los Angeles, in 1997, I met an LA-based clothing company that had already been doing business since ~1990 of cashmere in Inner Mongolia. The owner was an American man named Duffy, if I remember correctly.

It's not just you brits who put mint on goat or lamb to eat, we do too. Then again we might have learned it from the aussies as we are near in borneo island. Obviously the aussies might have learned it from the brits anyway. Well, things go around.
@TravelinChina2 жыл бұрын
Or maybe Brits learned it from the Aussies(?) (Although, I actually think it's a Welsh tradition)

Now I'm wondering what happens to sheep and goats elsewhere raised for wool when they hit 3 years old. I don't think most people would eat such an old goat.

Yeah bro that little goat is very cute but why it doesn’t show you any excitement or emotion
To be tender, the goat needs to be cooked low and slow to break down the connective tissue and fat. I suggest braising instead of boiling. But perhaps the locals prefer their meat to be chewy.
@TravelinChina2 жыл бұрын
I think tastes vary a lot between different banners. Some people I met love it to be chewy. Whereas others cook it so that is slides off the bone.
