I think your wife missed the point. She says she loves you and I believe her but WHAT about you does she love. What about you makes you more special than any other man she's every met. That question is for all ages not just teenage girls. Would she be honest enough to say if you actually fit what her teenage self thought she wanted in the love of her life. What I find so interesting about this M/V is the movies that were picked, I mean "Leon the professional" and "Pulp Fiction" as love stories and Dahyun's in commercials is that really about love. My opinion, what you say about this song, how it makes you feel, I find true of ALL Twice songs they all make me happy some more than others (this one for you) and as she said music should make you feel. I did like the honest back and forth actually made for an exhalent reaction. OT9 forever (TIMELESS).

I came to this video after watching your reaction to "Likey" and your analysis of the lyrics, and though you said you'd already seen/heard this song before (without filming a reaction), I wanted to see if you also caught what was going on under the surface here. Unlike "Likey," whose deeper message is present in the lyrics that contrast with the bubbly music, "What is Love's" lyrics don't seem as deep. However, things go down a deep rabbit hole when looking at the selection of which movies were chosen to be depicted for the video. They all have romances, sure, but they all have some unconventional element at play, whether that's the nature of the relationship between the protagonists or the outcomes of their respective stories. There's some element of "doom" around the relationships, though, one in particular does wind up with a happy ending, albeit in an unconventional way. I don't know if JYP himself was involved in the planning of this video, but one of his greatest inspirations is Whitney Houston (to the point where he named and themed a recording studio after her). And what did Whitney say was "The Greatest Love of All?" Mmmhmm... Learning to love yourself. Just like what happened in the Princess Diaries (as depicted by Nayeon). Despite the primary demographic of pop music being young people, pop music is still universal. What does make the direction of the planning of this video interesting is that several of these movies are either fairly "adult" or too old for the contemporary audience to have been expected to watch. Is this demographic mismatch between content and (the ostensible) audience intended depth to hit different demographics than the primary audience? Or is it the planners of the video disregarding the media literacy of their (ostensible) audience, and thus failing to present them with digestible information? Either way, it certainly is layered, and like many great stories, something where new interpretations can be taken away when revisiting at different phases in the viewer's life. It certainly is a universal truth that we regularly consume things that are "not for us" and miss messages that we were just ignorant to at that time. And this song and video does depict young women trying to learn by consuming media depictions, maybe not understanding how truthful or positive or negative those depictions are. Anyway, I've been enjoying your thoughtful reactions and look forward to you continuing on!

(Further contributing to my suspicion of JYP’s involvement in the movie selection is that he has a titlecard at the end of his and Sunmi’s “When We Disco” video, specifically calling out “Pulp Fiction” and “Saturday Night Fever” as two of his favorite movies.)

Yeah I’m less analytical with my wife and I focus on banter and relationship. How did you feel about this video compared to others ?

From the perspective of the "wife reacts" videos being a follow-on to your solo reactions, I really appreciate how you put her and her reactions at the center. I like how you encourage and coax her to elaborate on some thoughts and topics without being too much "in the driver's seat," leading too much, putting words in her mouth, or "mansplaining" (like pushing your thoughts/takes hard). When looking at it without understanding the existence of a separate video with more of your thoughts, it feels a little light on "content," especially with you really stepping back from being the "guide," and instead being more of just the "curator" presenting songs to your wife. However... I especially liked your rapport in the Irene/Seulgi "Monster" video and would be interested to see how that translates when you two are looking at something together for the first time. Now regarding just your solo reactions (of the handful I've seen so far), I appreciate the ways (conscious or not) that you convey the parts of the song/video that spoke to you personally. Whether it's rewinding to highlight parts of the video, bringing up other media touchstones that it reminded you of, and respectfully calling out things that the members do that particularly endeared them to you. That your responses to the songs don't feel like they exist in a vacuum, that you're not just giving objective reviews--these connections to life outside the song help us understand why the parts of the song or group matter to you, and gives the review more "realness."

So aside from all that... I know you're soliciting suggestions and that you're working through things at your own pace. I'll leave these two things: 1. You said you're a fan of "dangerous women." If you haven't checked out Itzy yet, I think their center, Ryujin, fits that bill. Unfortunately these are almost certain to get blocked on YT, but to illustrate the point, I would suggest Itzy's 2021 MAMA Awards performance, the "Fiction" special stage from the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejon, and the "Boss" special stage from the 2020 KBS Song Festival. 2. Between EXID, Mamamoo, and Red Velvet, you seem to have an appreciation for vocal groups, so I need to throw NMIXX's hat into the ring. If you vibe with the '90s hip-hop-style songs from EXID, I suggest starting your NMIXX journey with their most recent single, "Dash." You can also use their acapella album teaser videos to help guide your next steps. And maybe for your personal, non-YT enjoyment, Mamamoo's Hwasa was doing a talk show for a while, and JYP and NMIXX's main vocal duo, Lily and Haewon, were her first guests and performed a handful of songs. Bonus third thing: I dunno if you knew the Shinsadong Tiger producer connection between EXID and Momoland, but I'd suggest T-ara, a 2nd gen group he did a lot of work with. If you're down with the whole "shuffling with zombies" thing like w/ MJ or LMFAO, give "Lovey-Dovey" a look.
