Sir but if velocity doesn't given, then what will be it's velocity, for example mach number=0.8, and altitude of flight is 12,000 m, from the ground, so how will be calculated velocity from these values?

Speed of sound should be taken as 1065kmph at such heights invariably They'll remain constant

@@VARUNKUMAR-sj6jg I'm a btech mechanical student, a few days ago i had an exam the subject named compressible fluid flow, there was a question which i mentioned above, As far as I understand,in order to find velocity there is a equation, (sin¢= 1/m), m= mach number from this equation we can find the '¢' value.consider ¢ as mach angle. If we have mach number so we can find the mach angle '¢' by this equation, And the corresponding eqn (tan ¢= oppo/adju) so the eqn will be tan ¢= 12000/v) here velocity v can be determined? So what is your opinion about this?

@@theendisnear..4634 since ur mach no. is 0.8 if u calculate 1/0.8 u'll get 1.25 for which u can't fin sin inverse as inverse of sin can be found only in the range of 1 to -1

The Mach number is defined as the ratio of the speed of an object (such as an airplane) to the speed of sound in the surrounding medium. In this case, a Mach number of 0.8 means that the airplane is traveling at 0.8 times the speed of sound. To calculate the actual velocity of the airplane, you will need to know the speed of sound at the altitude of 12,000 m. The speed of sound varies with altitude and temperature, so you will need to consult a table or a formula to find this value. Assuming a standard temperature of -56.5°C at 12,000 m, the speed of sound is approximately 295 m/s. Therefore, the velocity of the airplane can be calculated as follows: Velocity = Mach number × Speed of sound = 0.8 × 295 m/s = 236 m/s So the velocity of the airplane at an altitude of 12,000 m with a Mach number of 0.8 is approximately 236 m/s.
