If you are planning to visit Rocky Mountain National Park during the month of May then you'll want to learn all about what you can expect in terms of weather, how busy the park will be, where to see wildlife, great activities to do at this time of year, and restrictions to park access. You'll find all this and more in this video. I have spent the last 20 years exploring and photographing Rocky Mountain National Park. I have a gallery in Estes Park called "Images of Rocky Mountain National Park" and I have written numerous books on the national park from coffee table books to hiking and photo guides on the park.

We are coming for the first 2 weeks of May! Counting the days! Thank you for your wonderful info. We heard about the ticks and have bought some Sawyer tick and bug spray for clothing and have spray for our body. Bringing layers and our winter gear-spikes and poles, and clothes. Plan to visit Images of RMNP.

I am traveling to the Rocky Mountains with my parents in a day. Any suggestions for lookout points that will be old people friendly? They are mostly interested for sightseeing.

I recommend visiting Sprague Lake and Lily Lake as they are both very gentle walks with beautiful views of the mountains.
