Hi, your videos are really interesting and relaxing. it's nice to see that an Italian product travels the American roads and is so much appreciated in other countries. Vespa is a myth for us Italians and represents an important part of my country and I am proud of it. Thanks for your videos and thanks for showing us how beautiful your country is. Greetings from Italy

Thank you for the kind words. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the videos. In my Vespa I’ve enjoyed a little piece of Italian culture that seems to always bring a smile to people’s faces! It’s a classic piece of Italian design that will never go out of style. 👍

@@flatgrindrides yes it's true, Vespa is a small piece of Italian culture in the world and it's nice to see that it is appreciated even in a distant country. moreover the way you drive it shows great respect and mastery of the vehicle, those wonderful smooth and unobstructed roads make you want to travel endlessly. I don't love mountains (I was born by the sea and my city is by the sea) but I must say that your mountains are wonderful and offer breathtaking views. vespa seems to be the ideal vehicle for traveling on those immense and infinite ribbons of asphalt and your driving is really attentive and pleasant. it seems to be there with you as you go on your beautiful hikes. congratulations again for everything, I wish you all the best and I will continue to follow your travels aboard a piece of my beloved Italy.

Some fine-looking scenery in Colorado, is so different than what I encounter here in Central Pennsylvania. As autumn approaches, everything is still green and the creeks and rivers full. Your much newer GTS scooter makes me wonder if I shouldn't be thinking about a replacement for mine. At least until I get on the scooter and say to myself, "Wow, it's so smooth and quiet." I was a little disappointed that you didn't blast onto that dirt road. It's not the perfect environment for the Vespa but it will take it on. But it will damage the patina... Another fine video. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. It’s a different landscape, but your Pennsylvania videos are really pretty too. We had a foggy morning here this morning, not unlike the video you posted recently. I didn’t get out and shoot anything though. As for the dirt road, I wasn’t sure where it went, and the best bet is still too shiny and new for me to want to take it on the dirt. Plus I have a dual sport bike that needs to get exercised sometimes too 😉

Another enjoyable vid. Thank you. This thing where car drivers drive well under the speed limit then speed up when you go to pass them happens very frequently. It’s really annoying and occasionally dangerous. Sometimes they feel the need to drift over towards you as well. This is bad too.

I envy your beautiful Colorado roads. I don't envy driving on them in the winter. Here in Sweden around Stockholm, there is ice and snow too in the wintertime but most often the snowy weather is given in mild and moderate proportions, due to climate changes I suppose. After an accident, a crash into a car approaching from the left in a main road crossing, I'm considering changing the front-end brake caliper on my new Vespa to a Brembo unit, bolt-on, costing about $300. A semi-high windscreen is very comfortable and isn't compromising top speed.
@flatgrindrides
@flatgrindrides Жыл бұрын
Hopefully the crash wasn’t too bad? I would be curious to hear your thoughts about the brake caliper if you do make the change. Good luck and hope you have a mild winter! 😉

@@flatgrindrides Brembo P4 30/34 C including an adapter bracket. The price is a bit north of $300 here in Europe and the installation should be rather straightforward using the original brake line.

Awesome roads for scoots, I’d be out there myself if I lived near by, I recently visited a Vespa dealer, they’re larger than they appear on video, looking to purchase one but I live in downtown LA where everyone drives 80plus on the freeways so I don’t know if it’s a good idea to own one here, bummer, I like your channel plus you’re a soft speaker and people tend to like that..
@flatgrindrides
@flatgrindrides Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yeah, I think that’s gonna be a personal call in terms of how comfortable you are and how much freeway riding you would be doing. You might check out one of the motorcycle rental websites like riders share to see if you could rent one for a day or two to try it out and see what you think. Seems like it would be perfect for the non-freeway parts of LA!

When you came to the ‘Horse Crossing’ sign, had you continued up the dirt road you would have connected with Hwy 34 back near the Dam Store. If you took a right onto that bridge, that would have taken you back to Co Rd 27 which would lead you back to 38E around Horsetooth. The Vespa can handle that dirt road, if you’re ever curious about it. 👍
@flatgrindrides
@flatgrindrides Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I don’t show it in on the video, but I did cross the bridge and head up to Horsetooth. I need to learn my way around! On my other bike I have a phone mount and use that for GPS but on the Vespa I just look at the direction of the sun and go for it. 😂

Hi, I enjoy your videos and I love my GTS 300 super a lot just like you do yours and I was watching one of your videos you were mention things you don't like about your 300 and I have a question for you, do you think the 300 GTS could be better on 13 inches wheels? because I think the 300 GTS is a motorcycle hiding in a scooter name is fast and ready for high ways the only disadvantage for me is the 12 inches wheels may be on 13 " would be more inspiring for me to take longer rides let me know what you think Thanks

I've never been on 13's so I can't really say. The 12" doesn't bother me at all. I have a "full sized" motorcycle too, so for me the Vespa is what it is and I'm happy with it. Sorry I can't add more insight, maybe you can find some videos of people who have added 13" wheels and see what they say. Good luck!

the BV 400 is about the same price as the vespa 300, with 16 inch wheels and about 10-12 more HP which should make if feel more stable at 70-75 mph. When I tested the vespa , the handling felt very unstable at those speeds. My own conditions require me to be on 70 mph highways for a few miles to get to work , etc so this aspect is important to me. Since the price is about the same I wonder whether you considered the Piaggio bv 400?
