Thanks for watching! And thanks to Susan Wolak for sharing her knowledge on Metadata! What tip from this video are you going to start using first?

Great video! I have a question about file names and "date created" for scanned photos where the date is unknown or uncertain: - For example, it is not a problem to put 200X-XX-XX as a filename, you could also use 00 for the month and date, but for the year it would be confusing as you would think the photo was created in 2000, when you do not know which 2000 it is. So it's better to just put an X in the filename? - Then how do you add "date cteated" to the metadata? Like 2000-01-01? If I only know year and month, then add 2005-06-01 (so filename 2005-06-XX)? So basically how do you add uncertain/unknown dates to metadata?

There are several programs that allow you to change the date created to a date you decide. I can change dates in Lightroom Classic, Bridge, Mylio Photos and many others. When I'm working with clients, I change the file names to the year we believe the photo was taken, but if we don't know the month and day, then I tell my clients I usually will rename and back date to a pre-determined month and day. I personally use Feb 1st as my typical 'chosen' new capture date and not Jan. 1st. The exceptions to this are when Month and Day are known or can be guessed by the event in the image like a birthday or holiday.
