What is: Mystic Timbers - Kings Island

Mystic Timbers opened to the public in 2017 as Kings Island's 4th wooden roller coaster. Throughout it's construction, the ride was heavily recognised by it's infamous tagline, 'What's in the shed'. In this video we explain the main facts and stats of the coaster, as well as it's interesting shed related story line.

@@ArrowThrills you've clearly never been on a beast night ride. You are flying through the forest (even with the trims) with no idea where you are going or where you will be next. It is THE #1 best thing about the beast. Go on any subreddit, forum etc. Ask about legendary night rides. If you have any substantial amount of comments the beast is pretty much guaranteed to show up.

An unrelenting thrill ride that never lets you go from the swooping drop. A top notch coaster. Highly recommended. The shed is just value added waiting time.

I really disagree that the shed is a gimmick. If anything, it's just theming. Mystic Timbers alone is a solid ride, and the shed theming just ensures that stacking is more enjoyable. It seems that Merlin have grown out of gimmicks now since DBGT and SW8. :)

COASTER BOT I'm referring more to the marketing. Why make "the shed" a thing when it's not anymore than theming. Had they not marketed it that way I'd totally agree with you. Very bizarre to build something up which quite frankly isn't really anything out of the ordinary. Amazing coasters though no doubt.

hmmmm.... that drop.... i know that drop... Oh that's right: Troy, a wooden rollercoaster in The Netherlands has the same sort of drop. The rides share a lot of things in my opinion. Same manufacturer, almost the same height (Troy is 35 meters high), almost the same speed (Troy goes 90 km/h), they both go through a building half way through the ride (Troy goes through the station, Mystic Timbers through a tunnel), same kind of ending (the both go through a small buiding, but there are no special effect at Troy. Only with halloween. Then, the lights in the building are out, and when the train enters a certain point, the lights go on and a guy with a chainsaw (who was a Dutch youtuber last year) scares everyone.) Funny enough, Troy actually celebrated it's 10th birthday this year, which makes Mystic Timbers even more special i guess (plz do What is: Troy Harry :) )

I love this ride. I actually think the shed is great, people seem to complain about it. The only problem I have with it is that I think the shed should be at the beginning of the ride, so it doesn't end off sorta strangely.

SW8 may rival Thirteen as the best family roller coaster at Alton Towers, but I don't think it will be the best ride at the park. It's very exciting to see GCI working in the UK! SW8 is a very interesting project. :)

what's so great about mystic timbers ? the long line . the racer is about the same height ,length, speed , it's line is walk on walk off , is it the best in the park ? it's not hard to beat crappy coaster , Firehawk relocated from Geauga Lake, diamondback is an OK hyper coaster ,(Apollo's Chariot has better air time) Banshee's is OK invert, Montu is much better, the BEAST is a legend , but not even close to the Voyage ,so again Mystic Timbers is the best crap at Kings Island ,pretty bad when Kings Island competition is Kentucky's Kingdom (LOL)

I have watched my home park ,Kings Island under the Taft broadcast company ,when it was a very special place , to the debacle under Paramount, the massive chewing gum covered wall over by the BEAST, to now CEDAR FAIR putting in second rate coasters instead of pushing the limits a little ,but let's over hype it like Diamondback, Banshee , and Mystic were ,over sold to the public to think their better than they really are, in 2 years Mystic will be just another medium size wooden coaster , I think Adventure express is on the chopping blocks ,then I see a rebuilding front entrance and then that giga that everybody is wanting
