I skipped past this video because I didn't understand the thumbnail and was skeptical that I was going to get new/ useful info from it. I was so very wrong, this topic is exactly what I needed. I've only run two sessions of ICRPG with two rpg veterans but have an upcoming event with a group of unknown players at unknown experience. Thank you for explaining a way to track my readiness and comfort with the master system and a few borrowed rules from Viking Death Squad, Fate, and Knave.

The first Dial to learn in ICRPG is the TARGET. At the physical table, a large, easy to see, d20 dedicated for TARGET works well. At a VTT, tracking TARGET will be different depending on which VTT is being used.

TARGET is a great one to start off with. You drop it into the game and slowly develop your control and variation on how it’s used

I feel like this can be a great tool. Have you considered tool for if you need tone downing? Lets say you are adding stuff always that you could only do accasionally to emphasize the effect? Poor example but tl;dr if you have a dial but are in really only need of an button?

Absolutely. The buttons, toggles, and dials are simply to represent what you have control of in your games and the level of control you have. If you want to turn dials down and not include them, you can totally do that. Use the tools you have at your disposal to achieve the game you’re looking for.
