Ooooh. So this is the secret!!! 😃 I received my first harp about a week ago. I have so much fun with it. Love it to bits. I practise whenever I have a minute. I like to watch and copy (try at least) every player I find on YT (including you of course/like to learn from the best) 😏. This was the bit I couldn't figure out they do with their breath. As a new player and a person who had never played any instrument before I must say...Not only it is fun but I find it healthy. I realise what an excellent breath excercise this is. It just energises me. Thank you sooooo much for your videos. I can feel the love and passion you have for these little things. And I now understand and feel it too. 💗

So helpful. I got one that didnt sound all that hot, so I'm a beginner, and found your vid here. Its sounds much better after learning stuff from your vids. Thank you!

Hey! You just taught me that the open close technique is, in fact one of my childhood nervous ticks. It should come natural. Haha

It truly is one of the best pocket sized instruments in the world. It's not the easiest though. You have keep making fine adjustments all the time I feel but my love grows stronger for it every day.

I'm finding that with each new to me, older video lesson I find of yours it answers questions I have on my mind about the playing of my Jawharp. Sweet*

Wow, I was having a hard time getting them really pronounced until I said guttoral stops with a T. As I'm starting out on a morsing, being a drummer who loves carnatic music, it had an immediate effect! Now I feel they're really pronounced. Thanks so much.

Opening and closing a hole in my voice is difficult, but I practice every day when I have time. Basically, I realized that opening a hole in the neck would make the sound louder and change it in a variety of ways! Thank you for teaching me! Also, the harp I'm using is the cheapest harp. Maybe that's why the sound is so low. But I'm having fun playing it. I'd like to play beatbox together in the future! Thank you! Have a nice day!

Does it work on Đàn môi and similar styles of jaw harp too? Ah well, I guess I'll find out in the morning - I just got my first Đàn môi and Glazyrin's Samurai vargan 3 hours ago and started playing a bit but my wife told me it was quite loud and now it's 4 AM so I'm stuck watching other people play on YT until it's day ;) I wish there was an electric version of jaw harp 😂
@bebbcorpharpery73314 жыл бұрын
Yes it does. Open close will work on many harps. There is an electric jaw harp called an electro-kubyz by Alik Stepsnov. It is quite loud. Happy harping.

Hey I’m getting a jaw harp on Christmas and I’ve been watching your videos and I was wondering if you have any other tips because I know 1.) not to bite the harp, put it against your teeth 2.) respect the harp and try to know it. So if there is anything I did not mention please help me (if you want). I feel really positive about the jaw harp and quite exited😅. Ok well I’ll see ya man ❤️
@bebbcorpharpery73314 жыл бұрын
For starting out it may also be easier to play in front of a mirror. For safety purposes start plucking inward. Also have fun.

Is this a technique question? If so at what time of the video?
@diganta23292 жыл бұрын
@@bebbcorpharpery7331 Hi, yes this is a technique question. No specific time but opening/close technique in general. I just cant get my head around it. I guess it’s not like saying “G”, like in “good”, otherwise you would have explained it that way 😆 Would there by another way to explain it as in the video? Would be very grateful 🙏😃
@bebbcorpharpery73312 жыл бұрын
It occurs in the throat with the glottis, not in the mouth. Say the word kitten and bottle in an English accent. The t in kitten occurs in the throat and the t in bottle occurs in the throat as well. You also use the glottis when you are laughing.

@@bebbcorpharpery7331 Thank you!!! I think I got it now 😃 Like when coughing or clearing the throat I guess. Thanx again! 🙏🙏🙏
