I was expecting to hear “Gone.” Tell someone to go, they then proceed to leave, 10 seconds later I would consider them to be “gone.” Therefore the past tense to “go” is “gone.” “Ne” being the suffixes added to the back end of “go,” to form a derivative. This is how the English language was built. “Gone” is the past tense to “go.” Past tense to “swim is swam.” This is a no brainer.

Plus most people being put on the spot take awhile to change or engage the brain to a certain way of thinking to answer. Out of the blue go up to a genius and ask why they pissing their pants??? And straight after that ask them what the capital of the city they live in, and ask them to answer as quick as possible. It takes the brain a sec to caatch up, its like a brain shock, "the element of suprise" its a mental Teach kids how to get their brain to react quicker, helps with learning and better mental absorbtion, more sinks in faster.

Past tense of go. Gone or Went. I had gone on holiday to spain with my family last week . I went to spain last week for my holiday. Either work perfecrly fine in using go. You can also use it as such. While i was driving here i got lost on the way as i had gone down the wrong road. Gone is a partipicle of go. While went indicstes a compound action. Ahh the english language... so simple... so easy to understand

You should be asking for one of the two past participles of the verb, not the past tense, as there are multiple past tenses. Eg, he spoke, he had spoken.
@SigmaLegend6921 күн бұрын
The past tense of the verb "go" is "went." For example: - I go to the store. (present tense) - I went to the store. (past tense)
@SigmaLegend6921 күн бұрын
"Going" is the present participle or the gerund form of the verb "go." Here are some examples of how it is used: - **Present continuous tense:** I am going to the store. - **Future continuous tense:** I will be going to the store. - **Gerund:** Going to the store is fun. In each of these cases, "going" indicates an action that is in progress or planned.

'gone' is the past participle of 'go'.
@Moshie718 күн бұрын
I think he meant the past (simple) tense in which case ‘went’ is the correct answer, In relation to ‘go’. ‘Gone’ is the past perfect (with an auxiliary) version e.g. ‘I had gone’ or ‘They had gone’. Using this version, you’d never say ‘I gone to the cinema’ but you could say ‘I had gone to the cinema’. 👀

Past tense is either "went" or "gone," although you have to put "had" before "gone" to make it work formally. I go -> I went/I had gone

The one guy looking away and back at the camera had me laughing. Especially with you doing the same!!! Pure gold. 234 rounded to the nearest ten, would that be 230? cos 30 is the closest number that is divisible evenly by 10? if it was 235 it could be 230 or 240. 236 would be 240. Right?
@camelopardalis8421 сағат бұрын
When asked about 235 I would go with 240. Because it's a rule to round up 5. But technically, it is right in the middle.

I quess ironically knowing the past tense of go is super easy for non native speakers as those were part of the learning drills. With native language you often just speak it, but will stumble upon gramatical questions.
@sarahfellows307428 күн бұрын
I am bilingual and this is because I was privileged enough to be able to teach my self another language and learn about past present and future tenses. Unless you are taught it, you can't know it. English schools don't teach it. There's nothing wrong with anyone in this video.
@TayWoode15 күн бұрын
It’s not taught because you learn it when you learn to speak as an infant
@sarahfellows307415 күн бұрын
@TayWoode yeah you do learn it automatically. Your not consciously taught what the concept of past, present and future tenses are, unless you specifically learn it, so when asked to define them, that information isn't going to be consciously there.
@TayWoode15 күн бұрын
@@sarahfellows3074 I would say the majority of people would know, these ones aren’t just very intelligent and the fact some people would say gone like “I gone to the shops” because they pick up bad habits from other speakers trying to sound urban and cool

There are two things I like most about these types of videos. 1) they ask 100 people and only show the clips of people who got it wrong 2) invariably, the interviewer would have gotten it wrong had he not been given the answer in the development of the video concept.
