Perhaps, a bad diet. That causes many cancers. Possibly living in a polluted environment.

Thank you for this brief yet concise explanation. I am a 3rd year medical student. Going through the rigorous training involves a lot of memorization and at times can be forgotten. This is a key concept that many students struggle to understand. I will refer this video to any colleagues needing further understanding.

Thank you so much,I was dx 1yr ago and you explained things so well,my dr. Started me on Hydrea monthly labs,and has the attitude( oh well) you have 10 years and never stressed how this would change my life,extreme fatigue general body weakness, foggy memory at times, and after finding info on several sites, I don't feel like I'm going crazy( I've been a nurse for 52 years) still doing part time school nursing and private duty,But could not do his without a nap,and 10-12 hours of sleep daily...Thanks for listening ..

This is not a fun thing to have and treatment is difficult as well. I was diagnosed in 2003, and left untreated until it could not be ignored anymore in 2014.

@@sandyb2391 Hi Sandy b, It's an interesting time, My thoughts are that the best way of managing P.V is to explore , and due to what I consider a bit of lack of studies on what can be done Vs what it is! So I use the key points of what it is to help make ideas of what might help, for example, when I try to explain P.V to someone quickly I just say "really thick slow blood" therefore I have a lot of water and a electric wobble board that I stand on to vibrate every capillary in my body to get nutrients around. But I have now a few systems in place, been to Hospital 3 times in 8 months, it seems that the IV drip brings me back as well. But I guess knowing my limitations has helped as well, Thank you for asking. There are a lot more things I do to help myself! I have been wanting to put a You Tube site up to pass my ideas to others. May I ask, why have you enquired please ? Indigo

@@indigoking6618 i have to go for the jak two test once its booked n find out if i have it. they want me to go every 2 weeks n take blood out which i did a couple of weeks ago once my blood pressure was through the roof. so wanted to find out more information and this doctor explains so good

@@sandyb2391 yes blood pressure??? Mine can be quite High, but when the Hematocrit or PCV ( plate cell volume) gets high I struggle to rehydrate then the blood pressure can drop dramatically, last time it went from 150/90 to 86/? and the veins started to collapse. So be careful, As far as I can work out, is that if the RBC is getting high the amount of water it can take in becomes low, so watch out for replacing fluids plus electrolytes when feeling warm or sweating or muscle weakness or numbness in fingers or feet. Feel free to contact me through this thread if you have Qs or insights you would like to discuss. Indigo

Puritis on bathing(so itchy skin due to water exposure) is also a sign of a water allergy(very rare but can happen). This can also cause a lot of redness. So how would you know if a patient whose skin gets itchy from water exposure has polycythemia vera or water allergy?
@wanpijid Жыл бұрын
Or mast cell activation syndrome? Exactly, I wanna know how to tell.
