I love Polyglutamic Acid and have been using it for quite a while with great results. I tend to use the ME+ Polyglutamic Acid Booster (from Superdrug). The Inkeylist description is kind of misleading. Their product has 3% Polyglutamic Acid "Complex" and NOT 3% of Polyglutamic Acid. In other words some mixture in which Polyglutamic Acid is included. Polyglutamic Acid appears a lot lower down on their ingredients list than Phenoxyethanol, therefore this indicates that the actual volume of Polyglutamic Acid is at a maximum strength of 1% , though most likely less otherwise they would have bumped it up higher in the ingredients list considering it is the main selling point of the serum. Do you know if polyglutamic acid needs to be locked in with a moisturizer? I know skincare specialists recommend you lock in humectants like hyaluronic acid because otherwise it will cause faster water evaporation off your skin or pull water from the lower levels of the skin and dry it out.

Hey. Polyglutamic acid is my holy grail and it’s best to use it as the last step serum but before a moisturiser. Polyglutamic acid acts as a weightless film on your skin to stop the moisture escaping. If you use HA and Poly together then you get better results but also follow with a moisturiser no matter what x

Adam Robert Lamb thank you for the reply! I ask because I don’t have a moisturizer that works for my skin. Everyone I try seems to break me out. So I’m wondering if it’s ok to use a polyglutamic serum without a moisturizer on top, or if it would lead to more dryness.

No it shouldn’t dry out the skin because of the product locking moisture in. I have actually heard that some people do use it as a moisturiser substitute but it depends on the persons skin! Like you said you have difficulty finding a moisturiser that likes your skin so this may be a good option for you! ☺️

Everyone seems to be recommending thw same 3 polyglutamic acid serums (inkeylist, kate somerville and the Power 10), I found one on amazon by a company called Image Dermatology. It looks good, but it's also one of those mysterious brands you only see on amazon so I'm contemplating getting it.
