I was under the impression that the AC power that is supplied to the home is 90 deg difference between the voltage and the current. In this video you are saying that it is not. That we actually have a PF of one. What am I missing?

Distortion power factor is as harmonic power factor. The power factor you explained as distortion power factor is actually called displacement power factor.

In harmonics power factor happening in SMPS, you mentioned that the cap charges quickly but discharges slowly. Why is it? Thanks in advance for any explanation !

if you look at the circuit diagram, current can always enter the capacitor either from the rectifier side or the load side. however, current can only leave the capacitor through the load, as the diodes of the rectifier block reverse current. when the capacitor voltage is lower than that of the rectifier, the rectifier sees a very low impedance path through the capacitor, so massive current flows through the capacitor from the rectifier until the voltage across the capacitor matches the rectifier voltage. now, when the capacitor voltage exceeds the rectifier voltage, it can only push current through the load. the load impedance is generally much greater than the impedance seen by the rectifier when charging the capacitor, so comparatively, much less current flows out of the capacitor than in. this is how capacitors in this configuration are able to smooth out the voltage from the rectifier greatly. however, they become less effective as the load becomes greater (lower impedance), as the capacitor discharges too quickly before the rectifier can charge it again on the next cycle.

In minute 4:10 it shows reactive power been 25W. Shouldn't it be 75W?

I feel, Your values in the calculations you showed are not correct. It’s good to use simple addition instead of phaser addition, to make the understanding easier, but please mention that.

the power calculation is not right. The value of apparent power is not equal to the addition of value of active power and reactive power
