Hello, nice introductionary video to this topic. Please would advise where I can find out how the track measuring equipment works? Also where would I find out the acceptable tolerances to defects? Specifically, I am interested in track alignment, twist faults and gauging. Many thanks, regards D

That is a good question. I am sure there will be something on Network Rails website. Try searching PLPR. In the UK the tolerances are stated within the Track Maintenance Standard

hi, i'm working on track geometry system for 2 years. i'm reporting defects of track geometry, rail wear, eq.conicity and corrugation. and reporting graphics of course. what is your measurement system's name? what country is it from? i would like to chat about the work we do and the systems we use.
