In this reaction video we look at Ramsha Sultan's video titled: "WHAT IS RAMADAN ? - A Special Video for Non Muslims". Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam, observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. Lasting for 29 or 30 days, it commemorates the revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad, serving as a time of spiritual renewal and self-discipline. From dawn until sunset, Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoking, and other physical needs, focusing instead on prayer, Quranic recitation, charitable acts, and strengthening bonds with family and the community. The breaking of the fast each evening, known as iftar, is a joyous occasion marked by special foods and communal gatherings. Ramadan fosters empathy, gratitude, and a heightened sense of spiritual connection, offering a profound opportunity for personal growth and devotion within the Islamic faith.

@@stayspiritual In Islam, there are 2 things to mention here when we talk about sins specially when ramadan is here, 1- devil, 2- own doing (ego). So, if one is chained and the other one (ego) or own doing is involved (you can call it nafs also). If you have no control over your attitude and you are manipulated and you are not following the Teachings of Quran, then its not the devil but its own ego. I'm just explaining a bit a more for clarification, and thats why in Ramadaan we try our best to follow everything strictly, that is Quran and Muhammad (S.A.W) sayings.

14:04 God doesn't need anything from you, He doesn't need your prayers or your fasting. You pray for you and you fast for yourself. However, coming of God to first heaven is symbolic, as we do not assign a place or location for God. He is above that. It is simply to create awareness that the Last part of the night is a time when you can seek nearness to God as you do not have any Distractions at that time. God has perfect knowledge, He knows what your deepest desires are however He loves it when you call upon Him as ask Him.

15:09 there is no harm in asking as long as you want to know the truth. When the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him taught his companions about Islam, they used to ask him various questions that fall in their minds that we may see in our day something bad to say or think about, but it is better to ask and search to understand than to be afraid to ask questions.

@@stayspiritualWhen seemingly good people have bad things happen to them, that is the test of this life from Allah. He says in the Quran we will test you with loss of life, loss of wealth, and loss of property, To separate the truthful from the liars and see how is going to get closer to God, when times are the worst! The best opportunities to get closer to Allah is in tragedy and calamity and trial and tribulation. Allah rewards your faith more and guides you more. Most western people do the opposite. They lose faith and reject god when things get rough or an atrocity or immense trial and tribulation happens. This is why people are so miserable and fall into depression or anxiety or mental and psychological problems!

During Ramadan, you're not supposed to eat too much /more than you usually do for itar. It's not a month of food but a month to get closer to Allah. As for the question of is it special every year, well it depends on the person. It's definitely a special month where we feel closer to islam, but the fasting becomes habitual. Eid is the actual day where we celebrate.

Brothers, It’s the Muslims who are basically protected from devils for them to easily go through spiritual experiences. But Holy Quran says that there are devils within the Jinn(the unseen) and the humans as well. Due to bad deeds continuously, some humans themselves act like devils as well. Moreover, our inner ( called Nafs) spirit has two parts, the good part telling you to do good is Lawwama and the part that tells you to do bad is Ammara. So during the year, if one’s bad deeds are access and his/her Bad part of Nafs is more stronger, he/she might get the inclinations to do bad in any part of year too.

I just wanna clear up the pronunciation thing since there's a LOT of debate in the comments. In Arabic, the word is رمضان. This can be romanized as "Ramadan" or sometimes "Ramadhan", depending on how you want to transcribe the sound of the "D" consonant. There are a few "D's" in the Arabic abjad (or alphabet): د (dal): the same as how you normally use the letter D in English, e.g. "day", "door", "dear", etc ذ (dhal): the voiced "th" in "they", "that", "there", etc ض (ḍad): this is the "D" in "Ramadan". Tongue placement is similar to ذ but it's pronounced like a heavier version of د ظ (ẓa): VERY similar to ذ in pronunciation, even I get this mixed up (not a native Arab speaker). But like the above, it's a heavier version of ذ (do cmiiw!) Going back to the word Ramadan, if you just read it as it's spelled in English, "Ramadan", that's probably the closest approximation of the Arabic you're gonna get tbh. Since sister Ramsha is from India, they pronounce it as "Ramzan" with a Z. That's because the Hindustani language (Hindi and Urdu) was influenced by Persian. In this case, the Persian language uses the letter ض to represent a Z sound. This also extends to other Persian-influenced languages such as Turkish. At the end of the day it just depends on how foreign words get transliterated according to the rules of different languages. Hope this helps :)

Great Reaction by both of you, and really solid questions you've raised! Every single question has extremely definitive answer if you ask to any Imam of your local community mosque. Specially Omar Suleiman 's Yaqeen Institute ( youtube channel) would be the best place to start with. Have a great day and keep up with your enthusiasm.

The belief that the devil is chained up during Ramadan is a spiritual metaphor symbolizing the heightened sense of self-discipline and restraint observed by Muslims during this holy month. It doesn't imply that non-Muslims are bound by the same spiritual dynamics. Non-Muslims may not observe Ramadan or its customs, as they have different beliefs and practices. This allows Muslims to focus on acts of worship, reflection, and self-improvement without as much temptation or distraction from negative influences. It's a symbolic reminder for Muslims to strive for righteousness and to avoid sinful behavior during Ramadan.

Ramadhan is the most Holy month out of twelve months. Whatever you do multiplies so do good not bad❤ Muslims out do God everyday but no one can out do Allah because he created us all, everything you see and everything Exists that you Don't see or know because humans have limits. Life is full of tests. Allah said I will test you with health, wealth and family. Islam teaches self control. Just look at Palestinians how much self control they have. They are the true Muslims, their patience is what Islam teaches, they have been suffering for nearly hundred years but they still Thank Allah for the little that they have and they still share. This it humanity. Don't forget we come from Allah and our return is to him. You cannot escape death. Love your reactions ❤

Muslims are encouraged to fast throughout the year eery Monday and Thursday. Since some people are lazy or not able to control themselves, this month forces everyone to feel the hunger of the poor.

Although the devil is chained up, you still have to fight your own leanings to sin, such as arrogance, envy etc. A person who does good for clout, is told that they will get rewarded on this earth in the way that they had hoped, but they give up the reward they could have had with God in the hereafter.

Regarding the pronunciation of Ramadan there is a letter ض in the original word رمضان as the letter ض is pronounced Duad in Arabic and Zuad in Urdu (as far as I know cause I only speak Urdu) so Arabs say Ramdan while South Asians day Ramzan

If you still experience temptations or you still commit sins during Ramadan, this is from your "nafs" which is the lower "self" that we all have inside us. The animal self if you like. Sometimes it's described as a hungry dog, or sometimes like a spoilt child. Your lower self has an insatiable appetite to fulfil all desires. It wants and wants, and our daily struggle is to tame that nafs so we can control our desires and behave like decent people. When we fast, we deny ourselves a basic instinct to eat and drink, so if we can manage to resist that urge for a whole month it's a training for us to be able to much easier resist the desires of our nafs to do bad stuff. It's all about taming that hungry dog inside us so we can reach a place of heightened spirituality and morality. The more we give in to the demands of our nafs, the harder it is to resist temptation, so when we feel these temptations in Ramadan it's just a sign that we need to work on that self control and self discipline. The idea of the devil being chained is that it's easier for us to have the space to be able to work on improving ourselves without the added difficulty of an evil outside ourselves trying to lead us astray.

And in answer to your other question, yes the devil is chained away from the whole world. People will still do bad stuff because of the lower self dominating their behaviour.

Satan is indeed chained in the month of Ramadan, but not lust... that's what we fight during Ramadan, namely lust... Usually we fight both, but in the month of Ramadan we only fight lust

Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return."Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. Q2 (Al-Baqarah): Verses 156-7

14:04 Brother here the importance of last third of night is discussed. Basically its a symbolization of God being the Most Merciful. At this time majorly it's peace and no distractions and even in rest of the months we prefer sleeping peacefully. God say at that time, Is there anyone who asks for forgiveness? Who asks for anything? I will give it to him or her. At the end I would say God knows best.

Another thing that is important is, if you wrong someone else that is not god you must ask forgiveness from that person that you wronged and if they do not accept your apoligy then you will not be forgiven by god .
