Thank you! I need at least a dozen co-writers. In that case it's a good idea. Let me know if you're in :)

After more than a decade a farming on a large scale I can confirm that improving soil conditions only helps with water retention. Otherwise its useless for improving brix or disease resistance or much of anything else. What I like so much about this ancient technology is that it applies to all soils, in all climates, regardless of poverty level.

I am absorbing this whole channel now that I was referred. I've spent the last 3 years acclimating my gardens. Meaning if I got 1 seed to grow out of a whole pack then I immediately replanted the seeds n it might grow a few lil things then I did it again n again until that plant was acclimated to my soil n my climate n producing fruit...then I found this ..never knew it had a name😄😍

Very interesting. Congratulations for looking at the real data, and not manipulating it to get the results you want. Not many researchers these days are that honest. Is there a part 2 to this conversation, yet? thanks.

Very interesting conversation! Amazing how much research you have done on your own Julia! You will be able to write the new updated version of Eating On the Wild Side! Or maybe someone from the BFA is already doing that, I just haven't heard. I have been hoping for some of the varietal/genetic information to be updated based on the recent BFA lab results. I'm surprised this video hasn't been seen more. Keep up the research and updating us, Julia!

People say magnesium is missing in our food from poor soils Would you say this would also be for potassium or is that not a problem Cart decide if to supplement with it or not as I cart find a natural one

I ended up having to write part 2-- a video interview wasn't the right format. It's a chapter in the online course on Landrace Gardening, which you might also enjoy. Just go to ModernLandraces.com, and email LandraceGardening@gmail.com for a scholarship code (or scroll to the bottom of the page).

It's hard to say that you were wrong to think about soil health, it's just that that isn't all of the problem. There has to be completeness and balance in a solution for any problem, so you were missing a big part of it, but that doesn't mean that the part you were focusing on isn't actually part of the solution. You've hammered out your soil health and now are free to focus on genetics. See how much better that sounds?

Well that's true, that sounds much better. Maybe it would help other people want to seek out the missing pieces if I rephrased it, people can get pretty defensive and be closed to new information.

Well done u have communicated this so very well, in India natural farming the rave is around what they call DESI seeds which haven't been tempered with for yield perhaps what in the west is referred to as heirloom or landrace seeds. Its always good to think in terms of the whole as you have done, Soil Seed all have a part to play towards the desired out come.

You would be better served breeding first so that your landraces adapt to unimproved soil, otherwise they would only perform well in improved soils.
