+duffboy502 yes, superman should NEVER be a fresh, or edgy or any current trends in the form of his overall character.. the character is called a boy scout for a reason, he's old fashioned. he's the ICON that every dc non anti-hero aspires to be. that means his costume should never change from the image we all know (red under wear and all). his values are old fashioned and his costume should reflect that. and red night wing costume just doesn't look right. yes the red does recall his robin days, but he's moved past that and is the one of the most respected dc heroes in his own right. and the blue shows that as he can stand on his own.

Jim Dot Beep But I enjoyed the New 52, and his run on Justice League has been amazing. The things that I hated about New 52 were Teen Titans, Wally West, Cameron Stewart's Batgirl, Robocop Bugs Bunny (even though Scott Snyder insist in call it Batman) and Truth. The rest I enjoyed a lot.

DC Rebirth was a very good relaunch and one of the best comic book moments of all time but with Doomsday Clock ending the rebirth era and going by a new title campaign called DC Universe. Geoff Johns and The people at DC never disappoint their fans writing and telling incredible storylines to things entertaining.

It's up to all of us to make our respective books worth your time and money. That's on all of us as individual creators. Jay and I try our best to make "Justice League" a book worth the time and money. Everyone has the same goal. To earn it. To give you something that only DC Comics can give you. I know I'll seem bias, considering my pic, but Static most definitely got the rawest of raw deals since this reboot started. The potential the character and his world had was vast, and they simply didn't have enough faith to give it proper treatment or to stick with it. Read interviews on it, and it's depressing. I gave the New 52 a fair chance, buying pretty much everything when I could. But after, what, five years? I can say it's been a failure in my eyes.

So happy Nightwing is back and that DC is bringing the core Titans. Even more excited that Aquaman will be bi-monthly. The wait for new stories cut in half is a godsend. The rebirth move is so smart, giving the main titles 2x a month is much better, while giving lesser known books the regular schedule of once a month. Looking forward to The Outlaws coming back as well, wondering if Duela is staying on the team...

Rock Roche I hope that is the case many people hated scott lodbell for his version of starfire (mainly the people who only know starfire from the TV show) but honestly once he finished his run people actually really liked her character. And many like myself were so confused on the version Amanda conner was trying to make. But I digress if they are adding new members to the outlaws I nominate ravager we got an alien an archer a gun user lets add deadly assassin/sword expert to the mix.

+KON- EL Lobdell's Starfire was amazing... People that got angry were older fans who wanted a bronze age Starfire. The changes made to her character fit and gave her some depth. Conner's Starfire was played too safe and tried to please SJW. It wasn't bad, but for a solo book the character didn't have much to draw readers in. Conner is a great at female characters like HQ or WW who are more violent/aggressive. The Starfire in her ongoing was tame.

Wild that it’s been a whole 7 years since this initiative. While I got into DC with The New 52 and didn’t really have that much attachment to the Post-Crisis/Pre-Flashpoint Universe, I understand the need for Rebirth at the time and I’d argue it was one of the best long-term initiatives DC has done.

Geoff please return the J.S.A. to there roots. I have enjoy every version of them from the golden age, the J.L.A. team-ups, the 80's, 90's and your near perfect run I have read it all(thanks D.C. archives). but I have also read earth 2 & earth 2 society. and the new 52 run couldn't be more jarring and more removed form what J.S.A. is about it feels like an elseworlds tale and a bad one at that. I just miss the history and how it was all canon from the 40's - today

Tom Leonard would be good. I know some of the higher up's don't like that there like 20 people that have been fighting crime since the 30's and are all over a 100 years old but only look there in there 40's. I would have the team form in 1940(there first issue) and disband in 1951 (there last issue) have them disband because of the House Un-American Activities Committee and give them a time jump to now. they could use The Last Days of the Justice Society story to do it. that way they would be in there 40's in modern times. keep the ww2 history and dump all those extra years and have a All-Star Squadron comic and a modern comic as well

I too have had the vague feeling of "something missing" ever since new 52. I don't hate new 52 like many people, but it's difficult for me to get excited about DC in comics because I much prefer the way the universe was set up pre 52 (for the most part). I hope rebirth does what Geoff says here and gets back to the roots of the characters while telling new stories (which I realize is very difficult to do considering the rich histories that all these characters have).

I'm a lifelong DC fan, and till this day remain so through much of the dreck they sometimes produce. What Geoff Johns says in this video could have been said before each and any DC event. "......we've been working for months and months and months with all the creative teams and editorial......zeroing in.......what we love about it, what did we love about it, what do we love about it.......build a better book, a better universe." So, it appears they actually do discuss characters and storylines, and how best to employ their "skills". Yet, what they often produce is subpar, not "universe changing", and doesn't effect "the status quo." What worries me most about "Rebirth", is the afterbirth that spills out from what they finally deliver. Only then, a few short years later, probably to have another DC event called "Reincarnation", mixing old with the new, still trying to get it right.

+Samuel Otten Yes, the New 52 did change things, and not for the better in many cases. Geoff Johns spoke of discussing what was loved about the DCU and how to make it better. Did they make it better? No. Was it universe changing? No, not really, perhaps superficially. Is the status quo still in tact? Yes. And that's OK. I think the main point I was trying to make was every few years DC attempts to reinvent itself, only to realize they, again, screwed it up. And when promoting the next "event" they proclaim it to be the be-all and end-all of the DCU. Look at the opportunities they had with "Convergence", decades of past, present, and future characters to draw from. What do we get? Sometimes bad art, even the cover artwork was uninspired. The variants were just a half image close up of a single person, rather than images from a multiverse of characters. Story wise it was pretty uneventful considering its potential. "Rebirth" will come and go, and we will soon be discussing the next result of "months and months and months with all the creative teams and editorial" on how to best employ their skills at $4 to $5 a shot to read 18 to 20 pages of superheroism. I'm a lifelong DC fan, even though I gripe about it, but many people do. Anyway, it's just my opinion.

Rebirth is the pointless effort to fix what is beyond fixing....since Flashpoint DC continuity oficially doesn't Matter anymore.It is just pne big alternative universe , or omivers or whaterver. You can make up your own timeline because EVERYTHING happend, and nothing of it is relevant....so if anybody is asking you if Wonder Woman OR Black Canary were founding members of the Justice League ...you just say "uhh...yes"

at 3:35 on the blue curtains they show 6 superheroes without faces but a man with a cool haircut a jacket and the superman symbol (Superboy??), Next to him A guy with a hat?, then a guy with a hood (Green Arrow), Then after the hood a guy with the Flash symbol but you can see the top of his hair, Next to him a girl with the Green Lantern symbol, and finally Supergirl I think??, are we getting a look at some new/old ( redone or new costumes) heroes is that a tease or just doodling/concept art?

Jeffrey Mboya I mainly hated Young Justice for it's total inaccuracy. They took the small and comical squad of inept and untrained young heroes from the comics and completely rewrote them as a highly trained Justice League-sanctioned fighting machine that rarely smiled. That was never what Young Justice was about.

I've enjoyed both volumes of Batman Earth One and the Darkseid War arc is pretty fun to read. Both written by Johns. Those stories actually feel like superhero adventures instead of the teenage soap operas that make up a large part of DC/Marvel books lately. So someone over at DC must be listening to all the criticism the New 52 is getting.

the new 52 had some problems but gave us the court of owls which is an epic addition to the batman lore, death of the family was good, barry alen's return was ok but i'd like more hal jordan and martian manhunter and please give us an epic nightwing story
