What is reforestation?
Reforestation is the planting of trees in areas that have suffered from tree loss. One Tree Planted has reforestation projects all over the world and we plant trees for many, many reasons.
Some of our reforestation projects focus on habitat restoration, some focus on replanting trees (when and where it's required) in the aftermath of huge forest fires. We also plant to secure water supplies, to help farmers shift from destructive agriculture, and of course, to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Reforestation is the best tool we have to prevent or mitigate climate catastrophes.
Reforestation is in the news, and it's now the UN's decade of Ecosystem Restoration. From trillion tree challenges to the Great Green Wall, and record-setting attempts by national governments, reforestation is here, and it's growing bigger and bigger every year.

Me too. There is a search engine called Ecosia. It works just like Google, but they use all their profits to plant trees and use 200% renewable energy sources.

You're only looking at global warming. Forests can do many things other than store carbon. 1. They slow down rainfall. This allows water to seep into the ground and create water sources for the local area. 2. The roots hold the soil, preventing erosion and land slides. 3. Forests also provide habitat for animals

Planting trees is important as not only does it sequestrate carbon dioxide, forests also slow soil erosion, prevent flooding, prevent desertification, provide animals with habitat, and help provide people with an income. However, I agree with you. I follow a semi-vegan diet. I buy second hand wherever I can, I use a 100% renewable energy supplier. I don't own a car and walk or cycle. I haven't been on an aeroplane in over twenty years.

Great but these videos rarely mention india. my grandfather planted 500000 trees alone. India has multiple tree planting schemes and organisations. NASA have said india has become greener over the last 10 years. Hey how about some recognition.
