Such a great video to pull all of the different aspects of Rosh Hashanah together into one complete story. Sabrina did a beautiful job. Please let her know that we would love to see more of her. I also did not know about the nuts. Also, somehow I missed the fact that we are supposed to hear the shofar every day during Elul. Thanks Sabrina for clarifying Tishri 1 with the creation story in beresheit. My question is: why wouldn't Tishri 1 begin with the light? What are those days called on Yahweh's calendar?

According to this reckoning, the world was created on Elul 25. Tishrei 1 is the 6th day of creation because that was the day man was created, the highlight of His creation. Is that what you’re asking?

I am unsure of why a rams horn is not usually used on Rosh Hashanah/Yom Teruah. My guess is the difficulty in blowing it.

Many traditions do use an actual ram’s horn, although the horn of an ibex is often the iconic image you see.
