So I got into it last year with my stepdad and he vehemently denied 1975 ever happened. He started throwing the ‘apostate lie’ b.s. and my mom was even arguing with him as she was alive and witnessed it and the aftermath. I grew up hearing about it and I was told it was over zealous brothers and apostates that spread it. This last year I left the JW and I started attending church a couple months ago. I have awaken and see the truth and light of Christ. So I have told some of my family as I am not going to lie about my faith in Jesus and God. I am getting persecuted now by the family. Crazy thing now, my mom was over a couple days ago and started arguing with me again and she now denies the 1975 debacle. It is so crazy! It is as if they are all under a spell and I am seeing this truly is darkness and according to 2 Corinthians 4:4 - “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” We are literally witnessing this! Matthew 16:6 - But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. 2 Peter 2:1 - But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction 2 Timothy 3:5 - Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. I was about 12 in 1975, and lived in California. When I was 10 I moved about 60 miles from Reno, Nevada, but had lived near San Francisco, CA. We went to conventions in California and Nevada, and at the conventions were some high ups from Bethels saying EXACTLY what Bethel NY wanted them to say. Also, there were campaigns with special TRACTS we had to pass out because “TIME WAS SHORT” and all book studies were shortened to about 6 months because…yes, you guessed it: THE TIME WAS SHORT” and those who came to each convention that were doing the “Special Talks” were since the late 1960’s early 1970’s making everyone believe “TIME WAS ALMOST UP AND THIS WICKED SYSTEM OF THINGS ALMOST OVER” and they propped people up if they had sold their homes to “pioneer until the end.” They would almost scream in the talks in the 8 day conventions that went from morning til like 6 at night, and we had outside conventions some of those times, had gotten sunburn some of those times. The LEADERS TAUGHT 1975 WAS THE END OF 6000 Yrs, SO THEY MADE US CONCLUDE IT WOULD BE THE END. They made many articles mentioning things couldn’t continue beyond 1975, quoting Secretary of State Steve Acheson, I think in the Truth Book. Occasionally would say possibly wouldn’t, but then would go right back. If anyone DIDN’T BELIEVE 1975 WOULD BE THE END, was thought to be “Spiritually weak.”

I remember my mother calling one of my daughters and asking to speak with me and than telling me please please come to the (forthcoming) convention because I know we've always said its close to the end of this system but we've had new insight that's it so close now I feel its weeks at most and this is the last opportunity. We personally knew a brother who told his workmates he would give everything he owned to them because he would not need them from 1975. There were things I'd seen written in there books but another one would come out but then they would reword it differently. I thought this makes no sense why would they change it ? I thought either we WILL get everlasting life or we don't . The one book they had said that we will get everlasting life then the second one came out it said that we might get everlasting life . I kinda knew they were full of it at that point. But people still write it off bc we are in general wanting something better for ourselves in what better motivation is to tell everybody that they could get everlasting life .
