I recently met a girl who came up to me in a coffee shop and coming to think about it I'm pretty sure she was a scientologist. I remember feeling absolutely baffled by what she was saying and it was something I have never heard come out of someone's mouth before. She said that we are all demented and the earth we live on now is basically hell and that I needed to be saved or bad things would happen to me. Also she asked me what I was reading and I told her it was a pocketguide for diagnosing nutritional disorders (as I am studying to be a dietician) and she said doctors are corrupt people that don't want to help you and she compared people that practiced medicine to people that practice witchcraft. Then, she invited me to study with her at her house but I declined it. I just remember feeling guilty and questioning my life choices at that moment. I am not 100 percent sure if she followed scientology but she seemed to have the same mindset and same ideas that this video was describing. So scary and I didn't learn about scientology until yesterday and I had no idea it existed. I watched a documentary called "Going Clear" I think it was and it was terrifying the things they would do to people particularly in the Sea Org but yet they would write it off as a peaceful religion.

Auditing is a confession that is recorded on video for future use. Psychotherapy or therapy and a psychologist office is the exact opposite. Auditing is not a confession. A typical auditing session might ask you to recall a time when you were happy or sad or angry etc. It is not intended as a therapy, though that is a by product of it. Auditing is all to do with considerations. For example, as a child you might tell things as they are, and an adult might tell you not to say things like that. You may have had a consideration imposed upon you that altered your way of seeing things as they are. Many considerations are subconscious, we don't realise how much of our ways of thinking are because of circumstances that caused us to view things in certain ways. Auditing also deals with restoring full memory of this and previous lifetimes. When I was a Scientologist, no one ever blackmailed me or threatened to reveal all if I left or spoke badly about them. I have no doubt that there will be those who say they were threatened or blackmailed, but I have no way of knowing if this is true or not. From my knowledge and experience, it isn't.

Thanks for posting this video. I got involved in Scientology back in 1981. I had never heard of it at the time and I didn't discover any information that would warn me about it. This was well before the internet came along when we now have so much more information readily available. The information in this video is quite accurate. In a nutshell, I ended up thousands of dollars in debt with very little to show for it. I also faced a great deal of pressure and intimidation when they attempted to sell me more of their services or tried to recruit me as a full time staff member. I'm embarrassed and ashamed that I was ever involved with Scientology. It's nothing more than a money making cult using the titles of 'church' and 'religion'. Hopefully in the very near future, Scientology will fade away completely and just be a bad memory in history.

I was sort of on and off, I soon learned that it was better to simply go to church for a specific course when I wanted to then disappear until next time. But I found a lot of the tech very useful, though I can't say the same for 'The org'. I had read book 1 which sparked my interest but was puzzled by Scn, and even moreso that Sceintologists didn't seem to know how to audit book 1 style. So I didn't have much auditing after a few failed attempts.

@@canadianfortrump4057 Yes, I was much younger back then! I got involved by accident really, I'd ben clearing out a flooded basement and told to chuck some boxes full of damp copies of Dianetics, and i was intrigued so took a copy for myself. I read it, liked it and wanted to find people to 'audit' but couldn't get anyone interested. Although it mentioned Sceintology in the small print I had no idea what that was nor that there was an active church, to me it seemed like a long lost and forgotten book. But about ayear later while down Tottenham Court Road I spotted a shop with the word Dianetics on and ventured in and booked some auditing. No one told me anything about Scientology for a while, but I did browse some of the books, but the person I worked for was a Scientologist, hence the boxes of books in his basement, and he loads of 'executive' volumes on his shelves, so when not around I would browse these books. I did learn about Xenu this way but also realised that there was more to it than face value, but I think Miscavige has altered things a lot. If it had been left to grow as a self help movement I think it might have become quite popular, but greed and power turned it into a religion, and a cult one at that.

I went to the Scientology building in LA with my friends as a joke. When we entered it was extremely hard to stop laughing at the robotic actions of the volunteers and the absurdity of their beliefs. We then went down some stairs into an area where the testing happened. In a hallway I spotted a Hispanic family who didn’t speak English. A volunteer was handing them a Spanish version of the starter kit. I recognized the father say dinero, and the volunteer say no. This may seem nice, however I turned around to see a shelf with kits in about 25+ languages. I then realized that Scientology obviously gives immigrant families something to latch onto in America and then take all of their money. When I realized this I quickly rushed back upstairs. We then left 5 minutes later. As we were on a large tour, we then walked from around there to the Pantages theatre to see School of Rock. On the way there was a shrine of sorts dedicated to Hubbard inside of a nice lobby for a high rise on Hollywood blvd. My friends dad went in as a joke and I started to laugh. A volunteer was outside smoking and yelled “Stupid religious bigot!” at me. I turned and I said “No, I’m just not stupid enough to get tricked into joining a cult” and walked away. That was my limited experience with Scientology.

Wait till they find out you can pay a fraction of the cost of "auditing" and simply go to therapy.
@RealDrewHadsell4 ай бұрын
Therapy is just talking to somebody about your problems, ultimately lightening you up on those problems but essentially most of the time people just re-validate the existence of those problems so they never get replaced with ones of comparable magnitude, which is one of the micro processes in Scientology. An auditor asks a preclear to invent a bunch of problems so that the present time problems can be released. If you think they aren’t fully aware about all the other therapeutic practices, you’re vastly underestimating the intel of them. The religion was powerful enough for the CIA to hire spies to collect and gather all the information within the religion. You can look up “CIA Remote viewing” on google and it will describe one of the things that’s learnt in higher levels of Scientology. The CIA was after the religion since the 50s-60s because it completely opposed the psychiatric field of medicine, and their acts of electric shock, prefrontal labotomy operations, use of drugs, and hypnosis, on subjects, but including all the other CIA operations performing illegal activities on kidnapped US citizens.

I was a card carrying Scientologist for almost 10 years. To this day, I do not regret any of the money that I spent on auditing or courses, as they greatly improved my life. I still swear by Dianetics auditing as being a useful and efficacious means of psychotherapy. All of that being said, I left the church in 2004 when a WISE company (World Institute of Scientology Enterprises) that I worked for ran afoul of the church for violating some of its rules (Mostly having to do with copyright), and the employees starting being interrogated and forced to admit complicancy. Around that same time, I started to see storm clouds forming in the way I saw some friends (who were employees of the church) being handled. In fact, my sister and my brother-in-law (who was an employee of a local mission) packed up and left the state in the middle of the night when she (my sister) got pregnant and they realized that the church would not release him from his contract. Although they now live a lovely life in another state, they are still evading the church to this day, which seems to have an uncanny knack for tracking people down; myself being no exception. I get calls about once a month from various Scentology offices trying to confirm my identity and membership status; this, after being gone for 15+ years. In my estimation, the Church of Scientology is on its way out. The abuses of power and money have raged out of control under Miscavige's reign, and now the church is lashing out at its detractors like a wounded animal, and the world will be a better place to see it gone. There are some independent groups out there that still practice DIanetics as a means of psychotherapy, but, for obvious reasons, they keep a very low profile. Best regards on this excellent video. Keep up the great work.

A friend of mine’s dentist was a Scientologist and he was curious, so asked me to go with him to an introductory meeting. I looked around and though you shouldn’t judge people from their outward appearance they all had the same look. They had this pathetic air about them of people looking for something to give meaning to their lives. They were lambs to the slaughter. They all bought books and other things and were happy to do so. This is the common thread that runs through all cults. The organisers have all the wealth and the pathetic sheep are bled dry. It’s really sad that some people are so desperate and gullible.
@ChronicallyCassidy2 жыл бұрын
I dont think all people are just gullible. They make it sound so great and if you’ve grown into the religion you only know that and believe what adults tell you. Also it’s so scary and hard to leave. The people are all brainwashed.
@prudencegumdrop95572 жыл бұрын
I dont think that's entirely fair. This is an organization designed to manipulate & defraud. People are not stupid necessarily for being victimized. I would say most people at some point of venerablilty or influencal time in their life could fall prey. You also got to realize a lot of people are born into this and have been in their entire life, imagen if that was all you knew. I'm not a very religious person but the whole design of scientology seems evil & maybe even demonic to me.
@ivyeorii Жыл бұрын
Many cults prey on these exact types of people, the ones who are sad and lonely are easier to isolate from society and manipulate. Those who are really dissatisfied with some part of their life end up in cults looking for that missing thing, which the cults promise they will find if they buy what they sell and believe what they preach. Scientology is a classic example of a cult.

Came to this video after watching Lofe's video, where he tried to go to the church of scientology dressed like a scientist. Now I know why he was kicked out in less than 1 minute

I don't know about other people, but I really liked this video and would be verry interested to see more of thoes, especially if they are about religions, since they often aren't easy to understand from my point of view

The "Church Of Scientology" is obviously all about the money.
@lifeisgo39016 жыл бұрын
Indeed it is ..... all about money! Harlan Ellison witnessed Hubbard being advised to "start a religion". YT video: Harlan Ellison & Robin Williams discuss LRH I bought the dianetics book myself in a 2nd book shop because I was intrigued by the subtitle "the power of the mind over the body" and I like reading about how the mind ticks. About an hour's research across the internet told me dianetics is another name for scientology and is a cult started by Hubbard as a means to earn himself easy money. The current leader's father, mother and wife have had enough and left!! If you do decide to join scientogy, apparently you have to sink all your money into your membership fees.
