do you think unreal engine 5 texture graph will be competition with substance designer ?
@louisemelin11298 ай бұрын
They both serve different purposes and can be used in combination! The strength of Substance Designer is that it can be dynamically integrated outside of Substance - other DCCs, game engines, etc.

I've played around a little with UE5's Texture Graph and it's not close to SD's capabilities. It'll be interesting to see how it develops or if Epic abandons it.

can someone say what is the difference between sampler and designer
@louisemelin1129Ай бұрын
Sampler is a more basic and beginner friendly app, you can do things much faster there but it's going to be more generic since it's all based on pre-made filters. Sampler's focus is also more on digitalization, converting images to 3D materials or doing photogrammetry. Designer on the other hand is more advanced and versatile, you can achieve pretty much anything in it but it takes a bit more time to setup things.

Substance Designer its a very slow image processor from Aligorithmics. And its kill a REAL PROCEDURAL 3D TEXTURE GENERATOR - DARK TREE!
@stevenmonsterАй бұрын
I am unsure what you are trying to say, but if there is an alternative to substance designer I would like to know more.
@Shiva4DАй бұрын
@@stevenmonster Sorry, my english its terrible. About 10 years ago I had experience to work with Dark Tree and its revollutional. No UV, no bitmaps, no megabytes of data, no texture stretches and... just realize - Infinite (!!!) detalization. Like a vector graphics or fractals - you can zoom in down to atomic level and still got details. And if it not enough - I used it with experemental VRay plugin what generate procedural meshes on render time with no rab usage and billions of triangles with use of 3d textures (its like a VDB mesher). And With real 3D complex textures (not just a Cloud Noise, its was so complex so its looks more like super dence alien structures in volume! With real geometry. And its all worked on 2 core intel and 3 gb ram and no GPU at all. ...and all it was flushed in toiled and replaced with stupid photoshop on gpu.
