"आत्मसमर्पण" Surrender is an attitude of mind, mental namaskar. It is not physical namaskar. "Atma Samarpan" is to tell God mentally, "God, I surrender to you. Please take care of me, guide me and help me to get "Mukti". After this, you should always keep this attitude in the mind and live your life and perform your duties as usual. This is Surrender.

Once you surrender to the divine self or god as he says , why is ramana saying u need to put effort? Isn't that the whole idea leave all to the divine then accept all the results good or bad according to you ! Where is the effort needed?

The effort mentioned here is not worldly effort. The effort is to control the mind and realize the Real Self. According to Ramana, there are two choices for individuals. 1) You can yourself make the effort to turn inward and enquire within, "Who Am I?" and know the Real Self that is Pure Consciousness. 2) But if you feel helpless, and need the help of a Higher Power, then Surrender to the Higher Power and it will take care of your actions and the results.
