Here's a few links for my favorite credit cards. I try to check the links often, but let me know if there is a problem. If they change the offer on the card, I may need to update the link. Full disclosure, I get a few airline miles for referring a new customer. You should get the same public offer at no additional cost. Thank you very much.

If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.

I appreciate all your videos. I’m in Thailand for a month arriving on the 15th and I’ll be sure to check out Stella’s bar. Also in Chiang Mai for 2 nights and I’ve just booked that hotel as the location looks ideal

That first one is actually the Muay Thai stadium 🏟️ in CM. It’s on most nights. Great little bars inside surrounding the ring too. We stayed at the Intercontinental and it was fabulous. That’s a great area of CM.

My wife and I just got back from Jomtien beach yesterday. We were pleasantly surprised that BKK was cooler than Jomtien. It is just too hot and humid in Thailand right now.

Yes, this is the hottest time of the year. It was probably just as hot in Bkk. It changes every day. I'm heading to Hong Kong today. I hope it's cooler. But the rain is coming. That cools the country down

If you're still in Chiang Mai and haven't already... You should meet up with The Narrow Gate vloggers here on KZbin. They're from SC in the U.S. and have lived there for a while. Would be cool to see you meet up with others with KZbin channels when you get away from Bangkok. On another note, thanks for the continued great content! Making me look forward to moving out that way a little more everyday! Lol...

Looks like a nice place to visit but once you are used to the vibe that is Bangkok, it’s hard to want to live elsewhere. Plenty of nice places to see but I like all the different experiences only Bangkok offers.

We stayed at the Intercontinental this past Feb. It was very nice. They were just finishing refurbishing it from the prior owners of the property. The service was really outstanding. The pool and swim up bar were really nice as well. I think we paid about $165 a night. It was expensive compared to the other local places. It was our first time in Thailand so we splurged. We are staying at a condo when we go over there in Jan 25. Enjoy your trip.

It's a nice hotel. I'll be at the Intercontinental in Hong Kong for a few nights today. I think that's closer to $300 a night. I'm using points, or I'd be staying at a cheaper spot

I always give front desk receptionist who checks me in 100 Baht for sometimes nothing at all but checking me in, and for future instances where I might need early check-in or maybe even a late check-out for that stay. I view it as good relations and "seeding" relationships. When I am checking in for business travel from work, they sort of give me a bunch of perks and highest floor so I always want to tip. Same goes for tipping the bell hops and concierge, about 20-50 baht per piece of luggage to the bell hop and 50-100 baht to the concierge. It's a measly $1-$3 bucks, woohoo. Feels like a total bargain compared to customarily tipping $5-$50 here in Silly Valley for a Subway sandwich made that way I like to a fancy sit-down restaurant. Chiang Mai has such bad pollution and the heat must've been scorching hot. First time in Thailand for me was in 1999 and headed to Chiang Mai with 2 of my buddies. There wasn't a soul there but us as there was an Asian Currency crisis going on! It was 48 Baht to $1 USD back then! Nice video. Smashed the thumbs up button brah!

I agree, 100 baht is always a nice gesture. I always take care of the housekeepers too. It's less than a beer, and those folks work very hard for little money
@donnguyen8443
@donnguyen8443 Ай бұрын
@@EagerExpat Yeah, forgot about the housekeepers. I always leave a 100 Baht note to them as well. I always hand tip them for room service because tipping on the receipt won't get to their hands at all! This came to a shock to me the first time I asked room service delivery. I immediately scratched it out on the receipt and went to my wallet for some Bahts. This was at 1am and she was working hard for so little. Average Thai makes $15-$20 USD per day and they have costly living expenses. Again, Thailand has one of the world's biggest/widest wealth disparities. Makes the U.S. look pedestrian or amateur with the wealth gaps here in the good 'ol US of A+.

You are on Loi Kroh. Most of the girlie bars are there. A few years ago a the pool some young guys were complaining about being scammed. So this 80 year old guy said he was paying alimony to 3 different women in the U.S. We ,"scammed" guys at least had fun. (I did). He didn't
