Car was a monster. Probably one of the most important mustangs ever made in regards to where product development has taken the mustang today. Completely ahead of its time, and there were only maybe 20 cars in the world that could touch this lowly ford at the track, most of which were Italian exotics. There wasn’t a German 4 seater coupe that could come close to this vehicle in performance. The only other American car that could hang with this one was the venerable Chevrolet Corvette z06 powered by the famous ls6.

This car is so rare.. I've seen it once in my life. I visited here in Miami, FL a specialty car dealer. They had a small showroom, but the treat was behind these twin deli-looking doors that lead to the holding garage. Must have been 50 cars in there. The Cobra R was sitting on a lift, way in the air. It is as majestic in person as it was on Gran Turismo. Too bad that these are basically held away.

These were great put together cars, but paying high bubble prices on these things isn’t very smart. At the end of the day....it’s a Ford Mustang. The honest value for what you get should be around $38,000-$58,000 depending on mileage/condition. To drop $75-100K on a Ford Mustang is the VERY definition of MORONIC. There are WAY, WAY better and more exotic cars to be had in the 75-100K range. Save $30,000 and buy a Terminator Cobra....it will put the SAME smile on your face with the SAME performance and you can throw that $30,000 down towards something else.
