I think the thing I like most about Dr Robitaille is that he is passionate about his field, and passionate about sharing knowledge and teaching. He's not arrogant about what he believes. I had a math teacher in high school like that. I hated math because it tends to bugger my brain and it often requires tedious work processes, however I always enjoyed his lectures because of how his love for mathematics showed through his teaching style. He would get legitimately excited about the topic of the day and he'd start flinging chalk across the board demonstrating the material and tips and tricks for solving problems, etc. He'd get so engrossed in sharing the knowledge it was like he forgot we were there and he looked like he was discovering the old theorems all over again.

I remember from High School Physics class,that in case of a 0 Kelvin. The neutrons and protons on a atom would stop spinning around the nucleus or there spin would be like watching a water drop fall in a very slow motion movie. Most what I remember was theoretical since there was no practical way to achieve 0 Kelvin?

Absolute Zero is a bit of a trick considering the _state_ of any matter becomes a Bose-Einstein Condensate, or does it not?. That is, the idea of "solid" ceases to exist, I thought.
@JasonKerlin
@JasonKerlin 5 жыл бұрын
I think the point is that Absolute Zero is unachieveable regardless and nothing in this universe will ever be at a point of zero absolute. And it would be likely the densest that any element could be as matter typically contracts as it loses thermal energy. But it is an impossibility so not relevant as it is a fruitless persuit and not useful in any way other than a talking point.

What I heard is, absolute zero can't be reached from positive or negative temperatures. Because + & - temperatures are in the magnetic (force and motion) part of our Universe. Absolute zero = inertia/counterspace/inertial plane (inertia and acceleration) part. The (Z) pinch creating the hyperboloid and torus. Between which produce force and motion, giving mass and space to our Universe. Absolute Zero can't be reached because It's counterspace/inertia. We are in space.

6:50, the negative (Counterspace) shells are attracted up to the infinite capacitance of the Inertial plane. Is the uneven, phi:1, magnetism of Aether. It's a Casimir Effect Universe. Space and Counterspace are the plates and the Inertial plane attracts and repels the plates. The Inertial plane, a non-moving lattice. Every hyperboloid and vortex in the Universe is connected to the Inertial plane, entanglement.

Hello, Prof. Thank you for all you do. *IF* you liked the video "LIKE" the video. [I can't believe 14 misguided ones 'disliked' it.] I came for this video from Prof. Robitaille's (future?) 01 June video. ["Anisotropy Maps vs the Third Law of Thermodynamics! - Cosmology is *not* science!"] This one raised some questions for me; "magnetic fields affect the spin" I thought I'd heard the human body produces magnetic fields? Isn't there always a background magnetic field [at least on earth]? Merci beaucoup monsieur! Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!

Human has a serious misconception about energy. Energy is usually expended by using direct. However, if we use energy indirectly, it can be used without spending zero percent. This way more energy can be generated without wasting energy..

negative Kelvin is "hotter" than positive Kelvin. Weird, right? Well, i'm not sure if it is true. Kelvin is a "thermodynamic" scale unlike Celsius. Its definition involves entropy i.e. the distribution of internal energy. I think negative Kelvin is "hotter" because the entropy is less. There may be only a moderate amount of internal energy, but it is in a small space, like a certain limited spin motion. In general, the more internal energy, the higher temperature because of more kinetic energy because the internal energy is abundant and bounces around. With lasers, MRI and other stuff I don't understand, there is more internal energy, but it less dispersed internally because humans are put it in small places. Hence, less entropy, less random kinetic energy and more energy ready for a specific use. There are different ways internal energy is stored, degrees of freedom, I don't know.

Why does a crystal lattice at zero K have zero entropy, if entropy is a measure of thermal energy per unit temperature that is not available for useful work? In the lattice at zero K, there's no energy in the system available for useful work, and there's zero temperature, so that's 0/0, so shouldn't it be undefined? I guess that definition doesn't apply here, so how do we get from that definition of entropy to the one about microstates? I'll have to think about it some more. Always love the videos, cheers!
@DeaDSisko
@DeaDSisko 3 жыл бұрын
I see where you might be confused. In the video, we are talking about the _value_ of entropy _S_ of a certain macrostate of a system which depends on the number of possible microstates _W_ that can compose the specific macrostate: S = k × ln(W), like is said in the video. What you are referring to is the _change_ of entropy _dS_ of a system with a certain constant temperature _T_ : dS = δQ / T. I hope that I have made it a little clearer for you.

would time also stop at 0 kelvin ?
@gyro5d
@gyro5d 7 жыл бұрын
Supposedly, at 0 Kelvin everything becomes one, a condensate. Time is a measure of magnitudes. If, the magnitudes are all the same (one). Is there time? Magnetic field from Inertia, would start with no vibrations. Probabily at 0 Kelvin and as one. Inertia could be pre-condensate.

with no movement there are no cycles to apply. even if it was just an apple the apple would not age. If it was a general condition of a universe I would say there would be no time.

Brian Kerr; I would guess, no time. In inertia, counterspace and inertial plane time doesn't exist. Center of a magnet, dielectric inertial plane = no magnetism. Center of the Earth = no gravity.

Jim Williams; There isn't a speed of light, It's a rate of induction through the Ether. Inertia is entanglement, instantaneous action at a distance. When force and motion, leaves inertia and acceleration, the mass of the Magnetic Universe is created. Field Theory. The Universe is incommensurabile magnetism.

It is poppycockish. The problem is we want to define temperature as (delta energy/delta entropy). That isn't really a problem, but almost all the time, when you add energy to a system, the entropy increases. The problem is sometimes things are unusual because MRI technology is in progress or something. Adding energy, decreases entropy. I think the problem is how to distinguish these situations, so you end up introducing negative values. There is said to be a "discontinuous jump between a temperature of positive infinity to negative infinity" It sounds like poppycock. As I understand it, it is artificial (and seemingly an offense against common intuition) way to get situations where adding energy brings you closer to absolute zero. It is confusing me.
