Not sure if this is in your specific area, but an interesting movement you could consider is churches that are entirely based online, like Lux Digital Church and God Squad Church, two churches that operate as churches and aim themselves primarily to video gamers. Would be an interesting subject to look into since it seems like those churches may be at the start of a new movement (not sure if that's an accurate depiction but your call).

I used to attend an ARC church. They all follow the same formula and rarely preach a full gospel. The formula is "Ted talk" eisigesis preaching. Always a big tithe push and they likely bring in Robert Morris to talk about it. Very limited sin talk and they all speak at each other's churches. Most also are a husband and wife "pastor" team and many pastors don't have formal training or education.

*"The formula is 'Ted Talk' eisigesis preaching."* Yours is the exact comment I was searching for in this thread. You summed up the ARC position perfectly. I find it interesting how their statement of faith is positioned perfectly so you can't argue with it. It's very solid. But when you listen to the body of their teachings, they do not reflect the statement of faith at all. Essentially, these are NAR churches. I attended Foursquare and Assemblies of God churches for the better part of 30 years, and have watched both denominations slide down a very similar path, which is why I left. Since then, I will never attend a Pentecostal/Charismatic church, or a church that "co-pastored" by a husband and wife. It's totally unbiblical, and helps a church slide into deception. That said, if you'll pardon my hypocrisy for a moment - I now attend a non-denominational church which is heavily influenced by Calvary Chapel (a historically *charismatic* denomination). In fact, the Pastor is ordained Calvary Chapel, and teaches in the "through-the-Bible," expository vein ("a la Chuck Smith," if you will). Weekly teachings very much include the subject of sin, and the actual GOSPEL is taught every single service. We get the "hell fire and brimstone" every week, right alongside the message of grace and salvation. The subject of tithing only comes up when it comes up in the text we're studying, and we are told very plainly that tithing is NOT a requirement under the New Covenant, and that anything we choose to give to the church should be settled in our hearts between the Lord and ourselves. When the subject of tithing/giving does come up, it's usually prefaced by something like, "Our coffers are full, the church *does not* need your money." We're also told very flatly that our church does not ever employ or ordain female Pastors or Deacons, because the Bible does not support such church polity. You should see the look of relief come over womens' faces. Men are men and women are women at our church, both are kept separate, both are edified in their design and calling - as a result, we have a very strong church full of men and women who are equipped to raise strong families, and go out into our community and preach the gospel, both with our actions AND our words. Equally important, we get taught how to rightly-divide the Word of Truth. Sure, our Pastor is not perfect. No Pastor is. But he's teaching the Word, as well as how to interpret it. Praise Jesus for churches who are a light in a dark sea of bad teaching and theology.

I used to go to COH when I was starting out my christian journey, No shade to them, but they just don't teach the full gospel there like most people who go to that church is lukewarm at best, even the people on the dream team and other teams there. Even people on the prayer team is very iffy at times. They would finish praying then talk about listening to like Mariah Carey/Boy 2 Men and not the semi-ok ones, like the ones with highly sexual themes. A lot of my friends still go to COH and I follow them on social media and their lives are not ones that are constient with the teachings of the Bible. Like goes to Vegas, drinking , and partying, dressing in very provocative ways, cursing, and fornication. If you asked them anything about the Bible, they wouldn't know a single scripture besides the most famous ones like Psalms 23 or John 3:16. Plus, every service is like concert with smoke machines, lights, sounds and all that jazz. So you're not even listening to the actual word because you too focused on all of the things happening around you at the same time. If your'e a new christian and you are trying to find your way and learn more about the God you want to serve, that's not the church to go to. Your'e just going to be another face in the crowd and finding friends there is really hard because everyone is so cliquish when your'e actually trying to be more involved with the church like the teams there. If you're looking to actually learn, I suggest going to churches that where you can actually get to know the Pastor there, like smaller-mid size churches. If your'e in a smallerish church, you're not just a face in the crowd, everyone knows your name and will pray for you when you need prayer. You can actually go and talk to the Pastor. Man, you can actually hang out with the Pastor like my church actually goes on trips together and restaurants and we are all one big family. I can go on about finding a really good church where people know your name and one where you can actually be involved in. The whole point of this paragraph is to say just because it's popular doesn't mean that it's popular because of the right reasons, sometimes it's popular because it's comfortable and no one to actually hold you accountable to make sure your on the right path and being a Christian contray to popular belief isn't always going to be comfortable if your doing it the right way.

The problem with how arc started is desire. The foundations of the church, christianity, faith, is not based upon desire, but on Lord Jesus Christ alone. Desire and those involved in the desire way of energy, divine, spiritual, occult, manifesting and the list goes on, is founded upon lust, coveting. Even if it was about God's desire, that always disappears because of need, it is still not what he uses to build upon or create lasting foundtions with. Anything or anyone that uses desire in that way, ends up meeting Lord Jesus Christ who died on the Cross and will have to make the choice of dying to self and those selfish desires that come with a hidden undealt agenda. Who went out and met the need and dealt with the unmet need. Need will always replace desire, because of the corruption of selfish lust, masquerading as a pure desire, majority of people's desires even if they have a dream, or want to do something that seems right, good and true, or are motivated by it, its not a genuine foundation to build upon. Just because its a movement, network or gathering, networking, fellowship doesn't mean its not meant to have foundations. Desire is not a foundation that God uses to build upon. Deception builds upon desire, because the desire in the earth, is greed, pride, lust, coveting and the list goes on. These people hurt, harmed, injured, and the list goes on, at the expense of everyone else. Its not on. Not meeting unmet needs while fulfilling the lust and desires of those that should not have that met, is a not negotiable, because of what it brings into this earth. Helping one people group while ignoring everyone else, sets up for a journey into inequality. Either the members are equal and also get the help they need, or they don't and are not equal. Which means these people still fulfilling the bible scripture, the gentiles seek to lord it over others, it shall not be so among you....and this is what this network does, lords it over others and they don't care when they do. They have and everyone else has not.

“If you're a Christian, you can't lose your SALVATION... Once you call on Christ for salvation you are FOREVER SAFE in the grip of his GRACE and can enjoy eternal security." This is not precisely Reformed theology, which teaches that God will never rescind his election of a person to salvation. As the gospels teach (Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, Luke 8:4-15), there are many who accept the good news but later fall away. Thus this statement is a bit misleading.

Heyo! I’m actually a Youth Pastor at an ARC Church, and have been been for about 3 years now! (At a church not mentioned in this video) I also have some experience with a denominational role. ARC is essentially a church planting group, and more aligns as a “non profit” than it does a “ministry group” or “denomination. It’s been going for a while now, and honestly it’s pretty cool that God allows me to be connected with them. (Although I do find similar results from serving with a denominational church). What really sets ARC apart from a denomination is the lack of high council, we don’t have a general council nor do we have a voting process nor do we have a specific superintendent or president. ARC simply allows pastors to plant churches with a certain structure across the world and then allow the pastors to decide where they’d like to go from there. (Why there are ARC churches who are denominational and not). ARC is and has been alive and thriving, though! 😊

How can anyone take these ‘churches’ seriously. The names are so ridiculous 😂

Adam Magaña of Active Church in San Luis Obispo, California is the biggest conman in the ARC. A real life narcissistic psychopath, and he knows it. Unbelievable scam artist his whole life.

There's never been a religious organization with such a bland overall name that has individual members with such unusual names.

It’s sad. I lived about a block away from a couple of these churches. One of them was “planted” in a very nice, big building. But attendance must not have been what they expected, because after about a year they had to turn half of the building into a party lounge for kid’s birthday parties.
