I use the secret service armor with 20% weight reduction for weapons on all pieces, and I find that very helpful for carrying several different weapons! I dropped over 20 weapons in a container and they weighed over 200 lbs. but only weighed 19 lbs. on me. 💪

Heh… I’m trying to put together a full set of Unyielding Weapon Weight SS armor. Slow process but I’ll get there eventually. Still, even without Unyielding it’s nice to be able to pick up a couple dozen Mole Miner Gantlets and not be overencumbered.

Added benefit to SS is getting lLegendary effects. Crafting costs just 1 Module and you have better than a 50% chance of getting 3 star so getting a full set of specific Legendary is super cheap with SS armor.

DR and ER on SS and Brotherhood armor is overrated as it suffers from diminishing returns. For that reason I say solar is #1, being able to heal you and your team is a much better benefit than taking marginally less damage.

I watched another armour vid this morning, (Can't remember who sorry), and saw a comment from a player (sorry again, busy day), that the best legendary effect for a full health build with SS armour is overeaters and not vanguard! Other people agreed. just thought I'd mention that as I'll try it.

That's correct. Specially because Overeaters apply a percentage in damage deduction (6% per armor piece). Overall tanks more damage that Vanguard that will fade as you take hits

@El Cayuga Loco Trapper is only a sturdy armor, and much weaker than heavy Raider in terms of DR. It just has higher ER and has RR. Also can't go Overeaters with the Trapper unless I get ones with weapon weight reduction. I carry too much stuff.

I prefer brotherhood over SS myself. If energy damage is what I think it is then it's nowhere near as useful as ballistic resistance. Unless energy covers explosive damage? Brotherhood's the way to go.

The Heavy Combat Armor's BOS mod/paint makes it slightly more powerful than unmodified Secret Service armor and looks pretty cool if you can obtain a helmet for it. It's also tradeable and can be crafted fairly easily so if you don't want to buy buttressed secret service mods you can run combat armor. The only downside is not having much radiation resistance though

A full set of Unyielding Covert Scout means you're so stealthy that you can run energy weapons and stay in stealth for a majority of most conflicts (you "outkill" most mobs faster than they can detect you). Plus its the only endgame set that doesn't look dumb.🦾 You can also go in and out of sneaking with escape expert and reinitiate stealth into caution. You're so stealthy it kind of breaks the game. There's also additional legendary effects on the armor that give even more stealth. According to research from members of the community, there's no understood hard upper limit to stealth capabilities in FO76. This kind of endgame setup means you cant start running some really weird and fun hybrid-stealth builds. One of my favs being the "Ambush LMG build". You can actually run an AA explosive LMG with VATS in stealth and it shreds. I run an auto-aligned reflex enclave plasma rifle with B/50/25LVC. It out DPS's my fixer and railway rifle. It is truly a rare weapon, people are always trying to trade with me for it. ⚔

Secret service is , IMO, the top armor, with the BOS set a close second. As for the perks, well thats all dependent on your build and play style. For me, Unyielding + AP + WWR is the best combo ... but FDC reduction is solid also, as is Sentinel.

You should have mentioned that with the secret service armor you can equip 2 non legendary mods (1 main and 1 miscellaneous) on each piece of armor. I was wearing a full set for probably a week or longer before I learned I could add buttressed as well as ultra light build.

That's applicable to most armors. I think wood might be the only armor that doesn't have a main mod.

@@atomic_hok yup, it's nearly all of them. If you don't see it, then you haven't found that armor's mod plans yet. Try either farming for the mods or buying them at train station vendors. An exception of course for the scout armors, which do _not_ have plans for any mods and _must_ have mods bought specifically from the Enclave Whitespring bunker.

@Y2K because it gets worse _as_ you get damaged _and_ irradiated. IMHO it can get mitigated if your main legendary weapon is vampires and you chug a whole lotta brahmin milk or radaway, but yeah, you're better off with vanguard's which gets tougher as you lose health.

well, i have 5 characters each with their own preferred skills and armors. two run non power armor with my sniper running ss and my auto rifle using the brotherhood... partly because i ran him with brotherhood alegence but also because he gets shot more often. this arrangement seems to work well for both of them as i made sure at least one of the snipers pieces has chameleon on it. i just went for damage resistance and weight reduction attributes for the brotherhood suit.

I now have two full sets of 3 star SS Armor. Unyielding and Overeaters. The game has become more challenging for those running Bloodied builds, so I made the Overeaters to counter. A DO with reflective skin and armor piercing was my deciding point...lol!

As far as power armor my hellcat with legendary effects has literally made me incalculably tankier (i was like a radroach beforehand, and after i was able to run around the nuke silo for 10 minutes real time at least before dying getting blasted by bots and turrets etc). I like it because its the full armor is given as a main quest reward.

I'm a full health Commando build so I'm using a full set of Overeaters Secret Service, jetpack torso with buttressed and ultra light arms/legs alongside the Secret Service Shielded Under armor, it's insanely tanky and is really cheap to fix and doesn't need any 'rarer/expensive' junk to fix, highly recommend. It did however take me over 500 modules/cores to get overeaters on the full set though, my RNG on rolls is horrendous, well just in general really, 90% of the time I'll get asylum lights or burrows signs as my rare on Daily Ops, I once got 3x 'Wizards Fortune' notes as my rare reward, I was fuming 🤣

Well, I went for the SS a couple of months ago and it's nice ofc (jet pack and extra perks) but I kinda prefered the trusty CSS. Mostly for rad resistance and the fact that it's only 1 piece to repair when it breaks. Yeah, it doesn't have the high protection but you don't need it when you can be invisible "most" of the time.

There’s no bugs and a thorn armor at works exactly as advertised when things that you are you hit things with merely they believe. It works just the way it supposed to work I have a set of both, and both armor are very useful for their individual lives circumstances if you’re going to do MLA from stealth or not from stealth, Ben Thanh armors are useful adds another 250 damages in the form of bleed damage which is true damage and it works every time however, it’s been nerve it’s not buggy it’s just been nerve to doesn’t work the way it used to work and obviously solar armors only useful if you’re going full house if you’re low health, solar armor sat bonuses pointless, so rolling up a bunch of solar, armors, a waste of resources

i think recon is best since you have refractor to get that energy res up, also i think it looks the best. im currently wanting to roll a full set of arctic marine for pvp. i have a friend who runs a full set of assassins thorns armor and has an unarmed build that can oneshot even the tankiest of pvpers. botsmith looks sick and i also want to run a set of it but that stash box limit really limits my armor usability. ive got almost a full set of bolstering recon and i get close to 600 dr at times which i know isnt as good as overeaters but i like high numbers lol
