Stockfish now only uses NNUE to evaluate positions starting from version 16.1. If you want to analyze a game and find different variations, set the Stockfish MultiPV setting to a number greater than 1. Lc0 is close to Stockfish in terms of playing strength but Stockfish sometimes "sees" variations that most other engines overlook. You can also set the UCI_Elo option to any rating between 1350 and 3190 to play against Stockfish.

it's a pity that there is no more Chessmaster...for me it was the best chess...I like to watch the games played by the best players in the world...and the analysis of those games.. Chessmaster even had a library of openings and games..

Komodo Dragon deserves attention as well. Although it seems like it is not actively developed anymore.
@arkadiuszjandylewski152 Жыл бұрын
I play only against Komodo, because it is possible to adjust the elo strength from 1 to 3500. I do not need some artificial handicap which adjusts to my playing strength, I can do it myself by choosing the right elo strength.

@@arkadiuszjandylewski152 Except it's play is very unnatural and artificial whereas fritz adapts to your skill level giving it a more human feel

The best engine is, well, it depends on what you're intending to do. But as far as the STRONGEST chess engine... that would be Stockfish 16, or one of its derivatives (as of August 2023).

Stockfish don’t like this night move he say the move he recommend is better and now I even analyse this position with my super engine and he say the stockfish that played this game made huge blunder rf8 was crucial mistake my super engine wanted qa8 and he say black is plus 2 he somehow managed to trade the trap rook I can tell you he reached depth 37 in this position and solve it

Stockfish is the strongest chess engine today, but to analyze my game, I am more suitable to Shredder engine. Because the analyze result is more seems natural to me. So weird

Well, you're in good company. I know top 10 players who feel the same and although they use Stockfish as part of their tool set, they will use different choices as their preferred evaluation tool.

@@chess_and_tech but I wonder, is any GM can beat shredder engine easily or is it tough enough? If it is tough enough to be beaten by any GM, maybe I’ll stick to its evaluation
@chess_and_tech8 ай бұрын
@@AGUNGKAYA I didn't mean to suggest that these top GMs were necessarily using Shredder as their reference but just simply not Stockfish. Which isn't to say that they don't use Stockfish as part of their workflow. As to beating a powerful engine the answer is that not even Magnus Carlsen can do that.

You don't mention that you need powerful and therefore expensive hardware (i.e.a GPU) to run Leila.
@chess_and_tech4 ай бұрын
All computers have a GPU, since you would have no display otherwise. That said, Leela has versions that run solely on a CPU. They won't be as powerful, but they work fine. Much like an engine like Stockfish will run fine on a single-core machine, but better on a multi-core system.
@soitra4 ай бұрын
@@chess_and_tech Thanks for this. I have an old dual-core laptop, I can connect it to Leila, but try as I might.Leila's analysis doesn't appear in the Chessbase GUI. Am I missing a trick?
@chess_and_tech4 ай бұрын
@@soitra There are many builds of Leela, and you may not be using the one best suited for your system. Go to the main download link lczero.org/play/download/ and try the DNNL BLAS model, and failing that, the OpenBLAS one.
