What is the best garage flooring? Garage Makeover DIY: Setting up a home car detailing studio

Short VLOG of the latest stage of the home detailing studio and KZbin set makeover of my garage. Using Garage Floor Tile Company flooring tiles and accessories from Poka Premium, Flex Tools, SGS Engineering and Infinity Wax. This DIY garage makeover project has been in the planning for many years and still has sone last stage to go. Thanks to my dad for all his help - socially distanced and legal in Wales naturally. Real mancave there. Just subscribed, your anniversary gti is stunning matey. I own a 2001 mk4 golf gti in pearlescent black, owned for 17years. Luckily I used to work for a vw dealership were i bought it from when 3years old. Love the channel .

Cheers Martin. Just the boards to go and then the main work is done. I've decided to dig an inspection pit next to the garage instead of a scissor lift as that way I can get the Defender over it for rust proofing etc too. Lucky to have a plot of land and this old barn to slowly convert. Trouble is, it comes with a battered old house that is taking most of the money to renovate! All in good time :) Ta.

Floor looks very smart, looked at getting my own garage done but didn't think the floor tiles would hold up well to a lot of jacks,axle stands and that sort of wear and tear

Cheers. These tiles are solid as opposed to the hollow backed ones so should stand up to hard use better but you make a very good point. Horses for courses I guess 👍 Thanks for watching

Hi Chris! Our tiles (the ones in this video) are solid PVC all the way though so they do pretty well under a jack. If you leave the car on the jack for a long period of time though it might leave a dent that returns to normal in a day or so. Of course you might get some scratches depending on what you are doing but there is no impact to the durability/performance of the tiles. Some of our customers who really want to protect the look of the floor and just get a few spare tiles and flip them upside down under the jack just to protect the floor!

Looks really nice. Quick question, if I do wood work in my garage, do you think I can manage to keep the tyles clean simply by vacuuming or do you think I'd start getting build up on the tyles joints?

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, vacuuming gets rid of most dust and debris. I back that up every second week with a microfibre mop wipedown with some weak cleaner and water. Works a treat. Good luck!
