If we are strictly talking on traditional pop, it definitely goes to BEHAVIOUR BY PET SHOP BOYS. If we can count Dream pop, I’d instantly say “Blue Bell Knoll” by Cocteau Twins.

The Fames mother is LAMB tbh. Blackout, while i love, is given waaaaay too much credit. Especially considering the sole journalist who put the innovative label on it is a Britney stan. Rob Sheffield of RS. Blackout is Britneys best album and its great, but it was very of its time. And the music itself was not influential, what was influential was the entire tabloid vibe and the way Britney personified it entirely. Britney herself has influenced Gaga and The Fame but sonically The Fame is not entirely indebted to Blackout lol

@@f4gsforpele folklore and evermore are the closest but still not on that level. red is solid but far from 1989. speak now and fearless have literally nothing interesting standing for them. lover is dogshit. you said that 1989 is flavorless and generic but that is exactly what lover is, very corporate and follows the bland hitmaker formula. 1989 just has a different feeling to it, like genuinely good pop music. reminds me of emotion. the synths, the vocals, the melodies are all great. taylors only great album tbh.
