@@asbestosman The mixing is utter garbage, it sound hollow and weak at points, hear any remix with proper bass and you will hear how much presence the songs have, and there's a couple songs that have great parts but drag for too long (tittle track, to live is to die) or are simply boring (shortest straw, eye of the beholder), Ajfa can't hold a candle to MOP or RTL, because these records are basically flawless, while Ajfa has a couple of problems that drag the record down

It would be too tiring on the ears if it was mixed like Puppets. Justice never feels like it drags for me, while Puppets does, around the Disposable heroes/leper messiah mark. The mixing complaints are overblown IMHO, they made a mix that suited the record. It didn't have to be audiophile quality.

Donald Fagen and Steely Dan is the embodiment of that sketch in South Park where all the San Francisco residents sniff their own farts. that is Dan and especially Fagen in a nutshell. i worked in studios for 15-20 years and EVERYBODY who was in that field back then would constantly bring up the majesty of Dan and Fagen as a producer and their producton(all sounds anemic to me) all i can tell you is that Steely Dan and Fagen solo, or his other outfits send me into fits of rage. have to rank Dan and Fagen as some of the worst music i've ever been subjected to, along with the Plain White Tees

And Robert Smith from The Cure is a very distinctive vocalist, but I'd say he's much worse by a traditional standard. And Jack White's vocals are nothing unique imo, but the White Stripes imo make up for it by their lyrics and their swagger. So vocals aren't everything. But I personally love Brad Delp's vocals.
