I will not take the bait to be mean to you. Super valid points on Kick and KZbin streaming. Finding YT livestreams is so unnecessarily difficult - I still multistream to more easily save VODs and the majority of my views on streams happen after the stream Twitch culture, gamification, and integration remains GOATed

Hey Dan, awesome video as per usual. Just wanted to add a little bit of context around KZbin streaming, and by the way what I will say here is an hyperspecific context and you quickly touched on it at the end of the video. So, I use to stream on Twitch with very little success despite loving the experience of streaming it inspired me to try and make more content and eventually I figured out a niche and started making videos about the Fire Emblem game franchise on KZbin and some of those videos started taking off, yet it wasn't really translating in streaming views over on Twitch, so at that point I decided to start streaming over on KZbin where I had started building a sizeable subscriber base and my average viewership went from about 8-10 to all the way from 40-50 basically just by changing platform. This vieweship has varied in my time on KZbin I will say depending on the content I'm making I've gone from lows of 20 average viewers and highs of 150ish. However, it's important to note that if I'm not streaming in my specific niche my average viewership goes down by quite a lot, whereas on Twitch no matter what I played I stayed around the same viewers so maybe viewer "loyalty", for a lack of a better term, is higher on Twitch, since it's more personality based interest and KZbin, in my opinion, might be a little bit more content based interest. For a while, I did also try multistreaming to see if I could maybe grow my audience on Twitch while maintaining my KZbin one and my Twitch viewership never reached much higher than what I had pre-KZbin switch, but I think that is more due to my specific content niche not being THAT popular on Twitch. Most categories are often empty or with very low viewership and on the other hand there is an active group of creators within my niche on KZbin that get a sizeable viewership number while streaming and making videos. Anyways, sorry for the wall of text, but all this was kind of to say that I think researching your specific niche before committing to a platform is extremely important some communities are simply not active on certain platforms so having the right knowledge going in might be important. If you're making videos and streaming within the same niche I think drawing a live viewership on KZbin is possible, but I think if you're ONLY looking to stream Twitch might the place for most people. Anyways hopefully my personal experience was insightful to someone out there. Keep making awesome content, and I'm patiently waiting for the next video! :)

Yo I want you to know, my whole life I have been wanting to stream and make youtube videos, but I have always put it off. Your videos and tips helped me to start my streaming and uploading journey. Even though I am on a low viewer count I have grown more confident due to your tips. Thanks you so much for that!

Great to see you, great vid! One point of mild disagreement that I have is that Twitch has a "better" streaming culture. It has a FAMILIAR streaming culture, if you've been in the space a while or you started watching streaming on Twitch! And if you have, yeah, it's great! Twitch has good vibes and everyone gets how it works... if you've been there a while. I move in VTuber spaces, where a LOT of the people that want to start streaming got into it from corporate VTuber streams on KZbin, and THAT is the vibe they like. They don't know the Twitch memes, they're not immediately comfortable with how Twitch viewers expect things to go, and they find that they like the audience they get on KZbin more because KZbin stream viewership doesn't have the same preconceptions. You can craft your own community vibe and memes and expectations, if you build your audience and stick it out. That's a big appeal for a lot of them. A thing to keep in mind! Honestly if you plan on streaming games in the classical Twitch way, Twitch is probably best! But if your content is a little offbeat and you plan to make vids to support it, KZbin can be useful. Just gotta consider the whys and whats of what you're doing.
@xTwoShoes2 ай бұрын
Hey thank you! Really good point and yes, I think I definitely should have clarified that I was speaking to the classical way but I appreciate the education here. Honestly, I get a lot of comments from VTubers explaining how things can work differently in that space and its something I'd love to learn more about so that the videos can be more inclusive! I'll for sure speak to some pals or even make a video on the topic too! Thanks for the comment :)

I feel like you have to be on both platforms if you’re starting out. You don’t have to live stream on both of them but you have to make content for both of them.

i love KZbin too, and it's so disappointing they's too busy trying to compete with Tiktok instead of making their Live section better :(.

First of all, I love your videos, I've been watching a lot of your videos and it has been helping a lot, specially with motivation and learning new things and where I can better myself/stream, and I've been pondering about multi-streaming for a good while now, but was scared to do so, and this helped me decide, I already have a youtube channel, and a VODS one, but haven't really used much, was thinking about which one would be more beneficial to stream to

@@xTwoShoes I did start streaming on youtube, on my main channel, and it was great honestly, it was just a bit harder to keep up with chat even tho I'm a small streamer, but the problem I'm facing is it taking resources from my pc, I may just use the same enconder as I use for my twitch, but the lack of quality on youtube makes me not want to do so, but I'll try a few times and see how it goes, with all the tips from you, I decided to have a main game (Warframe, which is a game I'm passionate about and recently came back to) and maybe have one or two days where I play a story game, and so far, it has been going great, more people are engaging, I've been having a better average, and I think it also has to do with how I act during streams, I do try to be more talkative and keep reminding myself to just talk, although, still a bit hard sometimes, I just have to say thank you for your tips and the motivation needed to keep going, I hope you have great success 🙏

I was one of the people who streamed twitch and switched too youtube and it was the biggest mistake I made in my journey. I used to avg 40+ viewers consistently. Wheni jumped I got avg 2. And it knocked me hard. I recently returned to twitch were I avg'd 10 when I started back and now am seeing growth in followers and viewers again I feel that with that youtube is for offline content twitch for online that's the line in the sand for me now

For me i think twitch simply because ive already started on twitch, my friends all stream on twitch, and while my content on youtube is connected to my twitch streams i dont think the format works together for me personally
@HeliaTerra2 ай бұрын
The KZbin live stream experience as a viewer is meh. The chat isn't even really next to the stream you are trying to watch. So if you wanna engage with chat you have to chose between watching the stream and chatting. Also you can't use the membership emotes in other channels which is sad. I really appreciate the culture on Twitch that the overall community has build because I feel like the overall vibe is more friendly on twitch (maybe that's just my little corner on twitch but I like my little corner).
