What is the best USB 3.0 Extender? SDI! NDI! & RTSP!

I use RTSP over a few miles using a metro area fiber network. The 328' is just the limit for a single run of Cat5/6 Ethernet. You can go further using Ethernet Switches every 100M, or convert to SM fiber and you can go over 100KM with commonly available optics.

Which program is that you're using in the system tray to switch cameras?

Paul, we are using an older HuddleCam with 3.0 usb but also have a joystick remote for our church. We really need to extend the location about 150 ft to get it to a more central shot instead of side angle. Extending the remote works great but we dont really have the funds to get a new camera and tried using a usb fiber optic extension with little luck (it would bring it in and then freeze more often than not or not recognize the camera sometimes). What is a good recommendation for our need to get the length but only having usb as an option?

Extending USB 3.0 is very difficult. Most people use SDI and a SDI to USB converter.

Hi there thanks for the video. I am trying to figure out how I can use a longer USB c to USBc cable from an audio interface to a mac mini in my music studio. I am struggling with the short cable that came with the M-Audio 192-14 Air audio interface. The cable is less then 3 feet long and limits where I can position it relative to my computer. Thank you and hope you can shed some light.

I didn't get any ideas for extending USB 3?, you seemed to just discuss using different options. I have a PTZ pro 2 usb3 is the only option. Any idea how to extend this about 30m.

Can I attach 2 x SDI to USB 3.0 capture to both ends of the coxial and use it as a USB extension?

Usually you can only attach one per SDI to USB extender. But yes, this is a great way to extend USB. Is that what you are trying to do?

@@arnoldsanjuan3980 Yes, this is a great way to extend USB. But keep in mind camera control would happen over Ethernet. Also, you might want a PCIe card in your computer so that you can add 4 cameras.

I have never seen an IP camera with less than 800ms glass-to-glass latency. I know some claim 100ms but that is not glass-to-glass.
