I got into yo-yoing in the 90s boom. Had various yo-yos like the pro-yo, Duncan butterfly and omega rb2. Just back into it because i showed my kids a couple of beginner tricks with one in a store that I remembered and now they’re hooked. This video and website are very helpful as it’s a minefield out there and obviously been advancements in yo-yos since then.

I personally think that for anyone that is sure they'll get into 1A yoyoing, it is best to get an "advanced yoyo" from the start. Because they are often just better than a starter yoyo set for unresponsive play in every aspect, and responsiveness only really helps for the first 1-2 hours of play after which you learn the bind. Not to mention that the most basic bind is like, learnt in 5 minutes (I know this because I taught my sister). I don't find it necessary to pick up a yoyo whose upsides apply for the first hour of play. I find them useful for first timers that do not know if they wanna go string or 2A, but for almost anyone I would definitely recommend getting a decent playing unresponsive yoyo from the start

Glad to see you back. I learned kwyjibo on a wood axle Tom Kuhn. I tried 4a on a cold fusion GT. Last week or two I got the itch again and ordered a pile of yoyos. The replay pros are so nice, I almost forget to pick up anything else. Make more content, any topic. I've digested nearly a decade of your library in the last month. Also, tell someone to make a heavier yoyo. 70-80 grams would be my sweet spot. I can't play fast with blazing finesse. I need that lively brick.

I personally think for a beginner you can get- YYF ARROW (kinda old school now tbh) MAGICYOYO K2p (very cheap) OFFSET YOYO ASCENT ( magicyoyo k2p but by Brandon vu) YOTRICKS SAGE STARTER YOYO (personal bias) YYF ONE ( also old school ngl) YYF SPINSTAR/ YOTRICKS FIZZ (these 2 are all rounder but difficult to learn new complex tricks and you cant upgrade!)

How do you play fizz yoyo so well as you can do multiple tricks in one turn？ I tried to play some rotating tricks like brain twister and split the atom but these tricks kill spin time so the fizz yoyo stops spinning immediately.

You need to keep the motion of the yoyo straight so that the string does not touch the sides of the yoyo.

@@yiuwah0903 No, I always use the Fizz totally screwed together. Technically you can loosen the gap a bit, but I have never found that necessary. Make sure you’re using polyester string and not a fatter string like Cage Free.

That yoyo meets many of these criteria, yes. I have not tried it myself, but it looks like a reskin of the old Yomega Saber Raider. One of my all time favorites, but it needed frequent re-lubing to work properly, which made it frustrating as a beginner model. Not sure if this update fixes that or not.
