Agad said strong dark bishop. Why dark bishop is stronger than light bishop for black
@frankbee26574 сағат бұрын
The strong bishop is the bishop standing on opposite colour of most of your pawns and not obstructed by your pawns. In this case it is the dark square bishop.
@hfcriske4 сағат бұрын
I've seen it at the gym regularly, whereas the light bishop only comes by occasionally.
@MrSupernova11147 минут бұрын
Bg7 is considered the dragon bishop. It controls a lot of important squares along the long diagonal. Without it black has a lot of weak dark squares around the kingside. Therefore, Bg7 is strong in both attack and defense.

Often you do not explain something, like here in the beginning "black usually would not give away such a strong bishop, but here it is playable". Why? Often you claim some move is not good, or "there is not much to do here", and it is not obvious, then you show one variation that seems arbitrary. So, the position is complicated, the move is not obviously wrong, and playing one variation is not convincing. What do I expect? Of course I do not expect from you to show all the variation. I only expect some explanation. If you know so much about chess, you should be able.

🤣 do you want 1 hour long video
@MrSupernova11138 минут бұрын
Good observation. This video was rushed no doubt. I'm sure Agadmator can explain why Bg7 is a strong bishop and its relevance in most games. But he just rushed the video. Bg7 is considered the dragon bishop. Its strong in both attack and defense due to its immense reach in the dark color complex along the long diagonal and in the kingside. Its an oversimplification but if you review enough sicilian dragon, modern, or king indian defense games you'll realize why Bg7 is so important and black usually holds on to it to win (not always).

Nope, you thinking about the world championship title which automatically gives you the GM title. US championship unfortunately doesn't even give her a GM norm because she isn't facing enough GMs. But she won over 25 elo thus far, so she heads closer to 2500 which is another GM title necessity.

If Bobby had known about Armageddon would this have fixed the 1975 classical WCC issue since draws wouldn't exist? 9 Why don't we just do Armageddon for everything so chess will be like shogi where according to Larry Kaufman shogi 1 mistake is always he difference between win/loss where in the endgame both sides are trying to checkmate the other while chess it's often win/draw? Why women doesn't play in the open section ? I understand there are close(invitational) tournaments where only players who get invited can play but in other tournaments there shouldn't be a women section for example chess world cup. I remember Hou yifan try to play only in open tournamets like 10 years ago and judit polgar also did the same. That's what should happen otherwise there will never be a women world champion . But now they are equalling the prize fund of open and women section which will lead to no women playing in the open section because winning is much harder in open section. I see it as a backward step.
