Oh, this really adds SO much to the virtual Katmai bear viewing experience. Thank you for creating this! P.S. I muted it partway through and wish it was just the sound of footsteps, birds & natural sounds.

Thanks for this. But I much would have preferred crunching footsteps instead of orchestral music.

I had no idea this walk up to the falls was so magnificent. I believe at the end of trail laying eyes on the falls after watching so often on utube I would fall down and just cry ……I’m speechless

Fantastic tour of the trail ! This gave me a better perspective of the area where so many of the bears we have become to know and love as they make their way to BF. Many thanks to Brian Byrd for taking us along this .6 mile trek and everyone involved in making this wonderful video.

I visited Brook Falls about 20 years ago - highly recommended, really a trip of a lifetime. I remember a fully forested path, more like you see around time stamp 8:30. But 20 years is a long time, and there was either a storm or logging that came through. We were there for a few days in July and didn't see any bears on the trail, only at the two ends of the trail. We also took the 10,000 Smokes day trip. Pretty excellent learning experience.

I'm glad to see some trees have been cleared from the path so theres better visibiltiy. It was hard to see beyond the path when we were there in 2021. So exhilirating to walk that trail.

What a great idea to film this trail for us. I'd love to go some day. I hate that the spruce beetles are taking out so many trees. Was it once a dense forest there?

Love this but next time allow only natural sound. The overlaying of "musak" is distracting form the real abundance of natural sound with birds foot steps bugs rustling trees . Nature is its own star.

Have walked that trail several times,we made one trip there, and it was so awesome we came back and did it again. My question is, why did they cutdown so many trees on the trail? The trail was pretty dense on the trail, maybe for saftey reasons?

This is why total recall of off leash dogs is important. The way she described the beginning of the attack it sounds like she may have been able to back away if not for the dog chasing the bears

every shaded lump to the side of the trail appears as though it may be a bear to me. it seems like it would be a very calm walk if not for my imagination. are bears unable to access the bridged pathways? I can see where the gates that have metal netting and a handle that you need to use a thumb to manipulate would be a barrier. but would bears be able to climb over the first gate which is more adult waist level? having the ability to be that up close to the falls must be really amazing. it kind of feels like a mecca for bear watching (seeing them fish and also seeing the bear interactions)
