Hi Courtney! It would be awesome AND greatly appreciated if you do a tutorial for cutting marine type vinyl. I am a bag maker and mainly use marine type vinyl along with waterproof canvas. I have had my Scan n Cut DX330 for a year and a half and it is still in the box!!! After spending almost $1000.00 I want to use it and not just look at it. LOL HELP PLEASE!! Im old and a visual learner!!!! Thank you for all you do!!!

Hello! I would love to learn more about the drawing and templates as I hand draw my own illustrations, which I then like to sew onto fabric. I have a silhouette cameo 1 at the moment, but I am considering the scan n cut for the scanner possibilities. Also owning a brother sewing and embroidery machine and loving appliqué and patchwork, it seems a good pairing. Thanks for your informative videos Courtney. ❤

Courtney, I love listening and watching your very informative videos! I am eager to see anything as I am rather new to the Scan n Cut machine. I don’t even know how to get my bought SVG designs to the machine! Also, I have seen something about a print and cut feature that is a purchased add on, but don’t understand what that is at all! I have watched some of your videos on You Tube, but they are rather older. Are they still the same instructions for the newer machine? I love your style of teaching and demonstrating! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this! PS - I am a card maker, so I work mostly with paper and some vinyl. 😊

Hi. Im pretty new. I was wondering - what blade and mat would you advise for cutting shrink plastic (before shrinking obviously... lol). I figure black standard blade and standard tack mat? Also, what blade and mat would you suggest for window cling film. It is vinyl. Do you think the vinyl blade would be better? Standard tack mat also? Thx!!! Fyi. I have standard black blade, blue vinyl blade, gold fabric blade (not roller tho) and all three levels of mats. My daughter love love loves shrink plastic, so we may be cutting a lot of that so if a different blade might be better, I would be open to looking into that a bit down the road unless you think shrink plastic will damage my current blades over quickly.

Hi user-ky7hm4pz3u. I believe you can only ungroup imported items in software (canvas workspace). Of course, anything you grouped it in the machine you can ungroup.

I used my matte sticker paper for ScanNCut. It could not even cut the sticker when autodetecting. It ended up causing the sticker paper adhesive get stuck to the mat. What is causing it not cut the sticker paper and the mat to stick so badly on a matte sticker paper?

How do I cut out letters so it cuts out the center also like in a, or, b, etc?

When you are bringing in the letter it will give you three options. To cut just the outside of the image, to cut the inner and outer and just a draw line. Select the center option. - Courtney

Can I use plastic cutting mats from dollar tree to cut a template on Scan n Cut SDX325? I usually make them by hand but would be so much easier using the machine! Also, when I go to Canvas Workspace I can only get into projects. I cannot get into the designs that show on my Scan n Cut screen. It says I have not purchased them. What am I doing wrong?

I believe it's just the color. GY probably stands for Grey. They make other colors as well.

Yes you can scan in a plastic template as long as it's under 3mm thickness. - Courtney
