I have a question though, I am pursuing a masters degree in Business Analytics and have an undergrad degree in Economics but no experience of working in finance, do I need CFA? If I took a few finance related units during my course of study, would that help in getting a job at an investment firm or other financial institutions?

@@nickmcnickface3231 Only CFA charter holders who are making investment recommendations to clients will have both. Maybe 50% if I had to guess.

As an MBA who is currently doing my CFA, the CFA is 5x more financial analysis. There is some crossover but my opinion is that the CFA provides actual financial skills where an MBA provides more business plan/strategic planning. Hope this helps. PS CFA is CHALLENGING!

hello and thank you SO much for uploading this video. I have a question to ask... requirements... pass all 3 levels and have 3 years of investment decision making related work experience? How ? at the beginning of the video it was mentioned that cfa is a good way to breakthrough into the industry from a whole other field... so how am i to have 3 years of experience when i come from another field. and also... how do i prove it if i can only show my personal portfolio?

Good day everyone, I plan to start the CFA course this August, i studied medical lab science in college and I don’t have much knowledge in finance but so in love with the profession, so far I have taken some finance related courses on Coursera over the years to prepare myself on this but I still feel scared of getting stuck on the way if I start the CFA program? I need advice, is it okay to start the program with little knowledge in finance? Is it a program strictly for people who have been in the field? Hi Kenji, im a high school student who’s soon will be entering university. I plan to take on accounting as the major that i’ll be studying for the next 4 uni years. Although, i have a passion in investment and the stock market and im really intrigued with the CFA, in fact i’ve already started reading some of the materials that i bought off online. I have a couple of questions regarding the CFA : 1) since of the requirements of being a charterholder is having 3-4 investment decision related work experience, i was wondering if that is possible for me as someone who’s gonna graduate with a degree in accounting, and if its a yes, does that mean its okay for me to be working as an auditor or accounting related workfield? And still be a eligible for the Charterholder, if its a no, how can i get involved in the finance and investment related work? As someone from an accounting major. 2) Can i take the CFA level 1 exam during my uni year? 3) will Having a CFA charterholder means that i only get to work in the world of investment like portfolio management, trade, and equity related work? Or i could also work in finance and more towards funding, etc within a company?
