Very Nicely Done. 👍 Japanese Red Pine, Akamatsu, have long been a favorite of mine, with their gentle feel & somewhat delicate flaky peeling bark. They have a sort of Strong yet, Forgiving Feminine Grace that make Wonderful Bunjin/Literati with long slender trunks that compliment the thin soft lighter green needles. While appreciating them in reflective/meditative Keido you can almost hear the ‘wind in the pines.’ Sho fu en. Very Peaceful. To me they feel as though they represent the ‘Queen of Bonsai’ as in contrast to the Japanese Black Pine King.

아카마츠처럼 햇빛을 좋아하고 물은 싫어하는 나무는 없었네요. 낡은 줄기가 정말 매력적인 나무!😊

too pity that they are not allowed to import from Japan here in Germany(Europe)and just some slip through from time to time... looking for material like this you show for some time now

Great video Q, I grow Akamatsu and JBP, is that potted in pure Akadama?

赤玉土に桐生砂を混ぜています。松柏類は水捌けがある程度良い方が良いと考えます。

@@bonsai_q Trying to see what Kiryu is, I suppose it's like red lava cinder we have here, lots of iron in it, I repotted many JBP to red lava cinder and pumice, will see how they do. I want to find some sharp sand, I think #3 they use in wells is a good size, JBP is a coastal tree so I guess they love sand, just not too fine. I just won an eBay auction, Bonsai Tonight #12 & #20, so much good info on growing Japanese Black Pine. Thanks again for all your work on producing these videos, they will be watched for ages.
