We are the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
Our mission is to promote the theory and practice of environmental health in order to improve public health and wellbeing.
We have a heritage dating back over 130 years.
Our interests cover the core disciplines of environmental health including food safety and integrity, housing and communities, health and safety, environmental protection, and public health.
We are a professional membership body:
We set standards and support the professional development of our 7,000 members as well as the wider workforce. Our networks provide a range of local opportunities for members to meet, share experiences and expertise, discuss professional practice and attain CPD.
We are an awarding body:
Designing, delivering and awarding professional qualifications and work-based learning materials across the public, private and third sectors in more 40 countries worldwide.
We deliver training:
Every year, we run over 300 workshops and sell-out conferences tailored to the needs of Environmental Health Professionals, and offer in-house bespoke training courses at preferential rates for members.
We are a knowledge centre:
A key source of information for Government, environmental health professionals, industry and other stakeholders, we aim to raise the profile of environmental health and the work of our members.
We also publish Environmental Health News, an industry leading magazine which has been in circulation for more than 30 years.
